Will the human meatball be back this year?

With the pre-finals bye they reckon he should be good to go for first week of finals.

Is prestia a walk up start considering the footy he’s missed and how bad of an injury it was?

He will have to be. Just need to hope we can sort of carry him for a week or two.

I look at it and I think he's better than the likes of Ross, Higgins etc even if he's on one leg.

Hopefully there's a scratch match.

Better this way.

Don't want them going in relaxed.

They will lift for the occasion.

The side Richmond would have their sights set on in finals

By SEN
12 September 2020

Richmond were ultra-impressive in their 26-point win over Geelong on Friday night and would now be eyeing off Brisbane during the upcoming finals series, according to Gerard Whateley.

The Tigers put in one of their best performances this season in a match that was billed as a potential preview of this year’s Grand Final.

Brisbane, who currently sit in second place, are on track to face Richmond in the first week of the finals, which would be a rematch of their meeting in the same stage of the 2019 finals series.

The Lions have a poor record of late against the Tigers, having not beaten them since 2009 and Whateley said the looming matchup would suit Damien Hardwick’s side well.

“Richmond would have their sights set on the Lions,” he said on AFL Nation.

“They have a commanding record against them, and the Cats belted Port Adelaide, rather than the other way around where Port Adelaide had a nice win against Richmond and the Lions have wins over Geelong at the Gabba in recent times.

“The heroics of West Coast (against St Kilda on Thursday night) just don’t count for as much once the sums are done on this, they’re fifth (on the ladder) and need someone to stumble again to find their way back in."

Three of this year’s contenders – Richmond, Geelong and West Coast – all have what appear to be straightforward matches in the final round of the home and away season against Adelaide, Sydney and North Melbourne respectively.

But Whateley pointed out that ladder-leaders Port Adelaide have a tricky clash against Collingwood to end the season, which could prove to be a “high stakes” contest.

“History would suggest they’d be a stumble from one of the top four teams potentially in the six games left," he said.

“The match ups don’t lend itself to (upsets) but Port Adelaide still need to face Collingwood who could be going tooth and nail for a place in the eight – that might be a really high stakes game.

“There’s less of a potential to stumble for Richmond, Geelong and West Coast.”

RICHMOND (11-4-1, 46 pts, 125.8%)

vs Adelaide Crows, Saturday 5:10pm at the Adelaide Oval

Win:

Finish 3rd.
If Port beat Collingwood then Richmond plays Brisbane in a Qualifying Final at the Gabba.
If Port lose & Brisbane beat Carlton then Richmond play Port Adelaide in a Qualifying Final at the Adelaide Oval.

Lose:

Finish 5th if West Coast beats North Melbourne and Geelong beats Sydney,
finish 4th if only one of West Coast or Geelong wins,
finish 3rd if West Coast and Geelong both lose

Prediction: Finish 3rd, away qualifying final v Brisbane

Given the contracted nature of this year and probably the finals too the double chance is crucial more for the break between games. If WC finish 5th they could easily beat 4th the 2nd week of finals.

If our players play with their hearts and souls and give everything no one will beat them in the finals. Its up to our players now. They will win it all if they give their best.

Agreed Ramps.
I’d add the unshakeable belief in the game plan that delivers ..... particularly in finals.
That belief beats Port at Adelaide Oval PLUS Shedda, Bachar, Meatie, Capt, Nank and Astbury
We know what is does to everyone else in the 8  ;D
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
