Just keep him, no need to take unders, we already given St Kilda a player for almost nothing

I get people saying just keep him because of not wanting unders

But the fact is he has asked to be traded. Which means right now he doesn't want it be part of our Club.

Cannot see the point of keeping him if that's how he feels.

My view from the get go, was he was worth a 2nd rounder. Yes he was a late first rounder 3 years ago but that doesn't necessarily mean he is worth a 1st rounder now.

I think it is in the Club's best interest to get the deal done and back our recruiters in to bring in the talent to replace him

he wants out let him go.

For me he chose the easy way out instead of staying, working your arse off to get in the team. Graham is a perfect example. he was on the outer at one stage but worked hard and he is back, bigger than ever

He is contracted , so why can’t he can honour his contact? Why does a players wants over ride the best interest of the club.

To give a player away for unders sends the wrong message to the other clubs and to the players, st Kilda has well and truly got the message we are easy to roll over.
He is just a boy who would struggle to make decisions  with his head , give him 12 months with a pre season, who to say he won’t change his mind after a sook up for missing finals.
He is 21with 75 games so his up side is big imho as he has good potential as a midfielder .
Thank goodness our options are irrelevant to the recruiters who don’t seem to waste so many picks these days.

Jack Higgins

St Kilda is adamant it is not parting with its first-round pick (currently No.17) or next year's first selection to land the contracted Tiger. But Richmond has knocked back the Saints' offer of a future second-round pick. On Wednesday afternoon it appeared destined that the Saints were willing to up their offer to more than a future second-round pick, which would likely include a future third-round selection given St Kilda's hand at this year's draft is thin.

Richmond and St Kilda are still at loggerheads over Tiger Jack Higgins, with Richmond seeking an exchange of this year's first round picks, plus St Kilda's future second. St Kilda holds pick 17 compared to Richmond's pick 21 in this year's first round. The Saints have offered only the future second pick.

This is what gets me the most. That and I suppose he grew up a Saints boy but for a guy that supposedly works so hard I think it's weak know that he is close to the 22, clearly has ability, but has decided to take the easy way out.

Still worth a first rounder I think. How many from the 2017 draft have played 43 games despite brain surgery, in the best team in the league?

I've said this from the outset and this is a big test for us.
1st rounder or he stays and we back ourselves in with our culture and he backs himself in to play more games and win a flag.
We must not be the club who relents on this.
The Saints only power here is that they wait a year and a lot can change in that time.

Another move under discussion involves Jack Higgins, the contracted Tiger who has requested a trade to St Kilda wanting more midfield opportunities.

Cleary suggested one aspect of the deal could see the two sides exchange their first-round selections, currently picks No. 17 (Saints) and 21 (Tigers).

"There was enough confidence last night around this one (to suggest it will get done)," he said.

Matt Rendell on SEN just mentioned he believes it will be a swap of first rounders, a future 2nd rounder and maybe Richmond throws a late pick the other way to St Kilda.

Said the swap of first rounders might not sound that much given it's only 4 spots the difference but is very important. Richmond would kick themselves if St Kilda end up selecting the player in the draft the Tigers want before them at 17. Rendell brought up that Collingwood had wanted to draft Shai Bolton at pick 30 in his draft year but we (Richmond) got him with the pick before them ;D.
