--------------------------------

Hardwick said his side did not execute well enough and turned the ball over too much.

“I thought we could have scored [more] we went to quick inside forward 50 we spoke about it all day and unfortunately we couldn’t adhere to the plan,” he said, also giving credit to how well West Coast played.

“At the back-end, composure hurt us again. We just rushed the ball and lost our sense of what we’re trying to achieve.”

Summary:

* Q. What happened in the last 10 minutes? What's your assessment?

- We just lacked composure. Composure at the forward end cost us all night and composure at the back end late cost us as well. It was the keyword of the night for mine.

- Opportunities where we could have scored we went too quick inside F50. We spoke about it all day. Unfortunately, we couldn't adhere to the plan which is disappointing.

- At the back end, composure hurt us again. We just rushed the ball and lost our sense of what we're trying to achieve.

- Look in fairness, West Coast played a great brand of footy as well.

- We had 38 giveaway turnovers which is just skill execution. That hurt us all night as well.

* Q. Queries whether Liam Ryan's kick travelled 15 metres?

- I can't fix that.

- The Eagles kicked 8 goals from beyond 40m.

 - They kicked just one goal from general play. All the rest were from set shots.

- Their goalkicking is amazing. It always has been. They do have long shots through shallow entries. They just manage to kick their goals. He's a remarkable player Josh Kennedy and he kicked a remarkable goal.

- We didn't take as many opportunities as they did.

* Q. You got 22 points up on them. Was it just the last 10 minutes you lacked composure?

- No, it started at the forward end where our entries were just rushed. Our skill execution wasn't to our usual level. Decision making errors we lumped in there as well. Unfortunately, when you leave goals on the table a good side will come back and bite you on the backside.

- I thought we dominated the first quarter and various stages of the night as well. Just couldn't get the scoreboard reward we were after which leads sides open to attacking against us.

 - I thought the last quarter they were all over us but we still had chances to ice the game but just didn't.

* Q. Anything with regards to the preparation?

- Nah, our guys saw it as a positive. It's a great stadium to play in.

More from Dimma:

Q. Where do you see your team at the moment?

- We're in the hunt. We're probably like a lot of sides at the moment, we're spluttering along. We get some players back and then we lose some players and then we get some back players and then we lose some players. So we're a little bit like some other sides. Some sides are getting, not a charm run, but they are coping better with their injuries. Then there's sides like us that are battling away. Just waiting to get that side back together so they can jell. We haven't hit that run of form yet but we're hoping it comes after the bye.
