Had no issue with our deep defence tonight. We didn't lose due to McKay or Curnow getting off the chain.

Tarrant did amazingly well to keep McKay quiet (1 goal) given all the clearances and inside 50s Carlton had especially in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

Robbie Tarrant’s smooth Tigerland transition has drawn high praise from one of his new backline teammates, Jayden Short.

“He’s been amazing ever since he’s come to the Club,” Short said on 3AW.

“I love the bloke and I just love having him by my side.

“You just know what he’s going to bring every week. It’s just 100 percent intensity and effort.

“To look behind you and know you have ‘Taz’ there, it’s just amazing.

“I’m very grateful that we were able to get him and that he came across because I’m loving playing with him.”

Some praise towards Robbie who did well on Saturday night IMV. Kept Naughton to just two goals while he had 7 intercept marks himself.

Gibcus and Miller will be learning heaps from Tarrant also.

Just which someone would slot in the hole and block the FF lead as Tarrant isnt quick enough to keep up

Yep, the couple times Naughton got the break on the lead Robbie was at least a metre behind.

But clearly still learning our style but has been good

Astbury going around for another year couldn't have gone much worse than this bloke...as cooked as any of our old guard but without the medals to show for it...time to pee this overrated Norf hasbeen off and bring in Biggy..... :shh

100% Dio. He is really bad and I never understood the criticism of Astbury. This bloke well what are we thinking.

The holding he does and his lack of leg speed has been a concern all season, and he had an ordinary game against the Saints too. Other than he was solid and his effort is great. He's just gonna struggle at times.

What else are we gonna do other than play him? There is no one else and I like seeing Balta play as a forward.

Agree. And as generic as it may sound he brings experience and leadership down there to help Miller and Gibcus especially with Grimes out.

You would just be throwing them to the wolves playing biggy, Miller and Gibcus as our 3 KPD. Grand total of sub 10 games experience combined btw the 3 of them.

Was incredibly poor

Would be embarrassed by his efforts yesterday

Let's see how he responds
