Does Clarke play round 1 on a wing if Pickett doesn't come up?

Juddy's stats today:

14 disposals (8k, 6h, 4c, 9u, 71.4% eff.)
2 marks
0 tackles
4 inside 50s
336 metres gained
3 intercepts
3 score involvements
79% game time

My only worry with playing the likes of Hugo and Clarke on the wing is how it will open us up defensively. We struggle enough with that as it is and for all their faults Kmac and Pickett do their fair share of defensive work. Skill wise I’ve always thought our wingers could be improved on and I like both boys in that sense, especially juddy clarke. I just haven’t seen enough evidence that either can lock in defensively.

We really need to commit to our next wingers to take over from kmac and Pickett and play and train them in that position all season.

Hardwick today talking about Clarke.

"Judson will be a better player at AFL level. Bigger grounds and the structure and system works better at a AFL system. He's a player that we really don't measure his output on stats. We measure it on performance and patterns. We really like what this kid does. We think he's going to be a long-term AFL player for us. We're excited what that opportunity looks for him, whether it's this week or the weeks forthcoming."

Good news, Juddy Clarke is in.

This is exactly why these injuries at this time of year may be the best thing for us, could uncover a star here

I hope I’m wrong but does anyone else get Fiora vibes from this kid?

I think the kid will be very very good. Moves well, tries to hit the leading forward instead of just bombing it. Missed a few targets today, but the choices were right, just lacked execution.

Needs to put on a bit of weight and hit his targets. His first two kicks into F50 were shocking.

Aside from being a left footer I see no comparison whatsoever.

Yeah, his 3 passes straight to the Dogs players were costly but there is helluva lot of upside

Should be in the side ahead of plenty.
