How's Hawthorns form - complete basket case.  Paying clubs to take their best players and giving them away for peanuts.  They are tanking for sure.

They’re under no salary cap pressure, both guys only had 1 year left anyway and they traded them away for nothing. Add in McEvoy and Shiels retiring and Gunston leaving they’ve got like 5 players over the age of 25. Don’t really see any elite young talent either. Hawks will push kangas for the spoon and will be down there for a few seasons at least.

Three-year deal for Tom Mitchell at Collingwood.

Hawthorn understand exactly where their list is at present, and keeping Mitchell and O'Meara does not get them or those guys any closer to a premiership.
Cut em loose, they have been solid servants and let them explore their opportunities to be at a club that has a top 4 chance and therefore GF day.
It is Sicily and Amon that at 27 and with 5 year deals will pay a price for the next 3 years.

Collingwood's list has so very many holes, cant decide if it is equivalent to their 2004 or their 2013.

No forward line, recruiting C graders, over rating the seasons of journey men, not ready for a top 4 draw, let alone a top 8 draw.

Will be exposed, tactically (and I rate Fly & Leppa) because they will be worked out by the B & A grade teams across half back. Although the backline is half decent because it keeps em close however will ultimately fail vs with slick ball movement against their intercept driven zone.

Would we still have interest in Narkle or has that passed?

THE DELISTED PLAYERS WHO SHOULD BE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE

Seb Mottram

Quinton Narkle (Geelong)

Many Cats fans will remember Narkle’s first game against the Western Bulldogs in 2018, where the young midfielder was thrown into the final centre bounce of the game in a massive show of faith by Chris Scott.

Narkle was on the edge of Geelong’s best team last year but fell slightly down the pecking order in 2022. The 24-year-old was heavily linked to Richmond in last year’s trade period, and rival clubs can now secure his services for nothing.

Narkle’s best footy would have had him in Geelong’s best side this year, so there are question marks about where he’s at. But he demonstrated strong form in the three games he wasn’t injured or the medical sub, averaging just shy of 15 touches a game.

If he commits to his best footy, Narkle could be fielding multiple offers at new clubs.

Not very scientific of me, I know, but I feel like it would be bad luck to take Narkle. Geelong teach their players to panic and we don't want their dregs.

Someone better than me can post the image directly but here’s sen’s delisted 22.

Based on our need for key position players, jarred brander at 197cm and 97kg would fit the bill. Was pick 13 5 years ago although being delisted by 2 seperate clubs with a total of only 27 games doesn’t bode well. I’ve either never seen him play or can’t remember seeing him play so can’t really comment one way or the other.

Based on this footage we should sign him up as a midfielder to deliver inside 50. Looks pretty mobile for a big fella. Okay skills. Originally from Vic. Only 23ish.  Might as well considering there's only Jack Bauer waiting in the wings.

According to the West Coke board he was being played as a defensive winger, which would explain the lack of scoreboard impact. Seems that no one has really plonked him in the forward line and seen what he's capable of there.

I'd take Brander purely because of his size and we have nothing else.

Played against us round 2 this season. They played him as KF along side Himmelberg and Hogan had no impact at all. Though moves well for a big bloke.

Maybe he is one that you get to train with a side during the preseason and then c0nsdoer him for that supplementary selection just prior to the season. Or alternatively sign him for our VFL program with an eye on the mod season drsft
