To be fair Ross was very good in the seconds and his disposal had improved. He did get silver service from our rucks. He is definitely a confidence player and has good disposals if given time. He won’t get that luxury in the seniors and needs to improve his awareness  if he want to be a regular senior player

Thompson Dow was horrible on the weekend so I just cannot understand that Decision. I hate it when the selection committee does this. It sends a really bad message

What decision?

In fairness to Ross, he has dominated the 2’s every time he gets demoted.

Not in dispute but when he gets back into the AFL side he either plays poorly from the get go or plays a good game and then strings together poor games.

Seems he is above VFL level but not consistent enough for AFL

Would prefer to see others get the opportunities he would appear to have been gifted
The main problem is, he's played on a wing in AFL & is dropped, plays inside mid at VFL & gets promoted to a wing again. He's finally named inside at snr level where he plays his best footy

No excuses this week as you’d think Pickett and McIntosh will be on either wing leaving Ross to play Cotchins role. We will see. Hopefully he proves me wrong and the coaches find another bull midfielder  :pray

Ross lacks composure in his decision making and kicking under pressure in my opinion.

Hopefully this is something greater exposure at AFL will help.

Too good for VFL so kind of inbetween now.

💯 correct atleast goes back and perform some of the others in his same year drafted don't.

Fair call to a point

But...

Other players get called up, play a very good game at AFL level and then get dropped because senior players are coming back from injury. But Ross plays poorly and he doesn't get dropped, he gets rewarded with more games. That is the issue.

It's funny I was visiting a friend of Ma Powell today we were talking about footy and she said to me that she was talking to another of her friends who happen to be RFC members. These friends said to Ma Powell's friend how frustrated they get with the side some weeks because even after all these years Dimma still plays his favourites even when they stink it up.

I think Ross is a good example

This is a big part of my frustration and why i get into them a lot. On Ross i agree but at least this week he is playing on form and sheesh Geelong are a big team and most likely Ross's size inside will be needed

The team i would have liked to see them pick  this week

FB; Vlastuin - Tarrant - Broad
HB: Stack - Grimes - Rioli

C: McIntosh - RC-D# - Short
R: Nankervis - Pickett - Prestia

HF: Clarke - Lynch - Martin#
FF: Miller - Riewoldt - Bolton*

INT: Baker - Gibcus - Graham - Ralphsmith/Ross depending on what you think is needed the most, bigger inside body or pace outside.

SUB: Edwards .

INS - Stack - RC-D - Miller - Ross?
Out - Edwards - Cotchin - Balta - Ralphsmith?

I just wish they would give RCD a block of senior games

Aside from Miller who may come in late for Tarrant, our list of emergencies doesn't make much sense based on form.

Stack was clearly in our VFL side's bests on the weekend yet he isn't even named as an emergency while as you say CT Dow was very ordinary. Even Aarts' game wasn't crash hot IMV. Got on the end of some Joe the Gooses to kick his 4.

I'm guessing Hugo will be the sub. Please Dimma do not pick Aarts (as sub) and Ross in the same side again :help.

Probably for the best. Make those geriatric Geelong talls run and chase shadows.

Raining tonight in Melbourne?

It's been a clear sunny day.

No showers expected in the city tonight. Just a slight 20% chance around the ranges.

Reckless having Soldo as the sub. If we lose a mid we are a rotation down and gain absolutely nothing.
