THE FOUR CERTAINTIES FOR RICHMOND VERSUS FREMANTLE

Labelling something a ‘certainty’ in any sport is fraught with danger.

But we’ll attempt to find some anyway.

Here is what we consider certainties for Friday night’s clash between Richmond and Fremantle:

Cotchin to have 20+ disposals and 3+ clearances

Trent Cotchin has been a fairly consistent performer for Richmond this season.

Over 13 matches in 2022, the former Tigers captain has averaged 21.9 disposals and 5.1 clearances.

Upon his return from a collarbone injury last weekend, he picked up 24 touches and had five clearances in the loss to North Melbourne.

Against a quality Fremantle on-ball unit, expect Cotchin to be in the thick of the action and giving his all for his team once again.

We’re with him to pick up at least 20 disposals and have three or more clearances.

Cumberland to kick at least one goal

Noah Cumberland has had 12 scoring shots in just two games at AFL level.

The talented forward kicked 3.4 against the Roos last weekend, after 2.3 in his first appearance against the Suns in Round 17.

Having averaged six shots at goal across two outings, expect him to hit the scoreboard once again.

Cumberland should kick at least one goal against the Dockers on Friday night.

Taberner to kick two or more goals

Fremantle forward Matt Taberner has been solid throughout 2022, averaging two goals per game.

Set to line up on veteran tiger Robbie Tarrant, Taberner’s flexibility should prove tough to handle, especially on the fast Marvel expanses.

Taberner’s recent record over the Tigers is strong. The 29-year-old kicked three goals in a low-scoring affair last year and in a huge Friday night clash, he’ll be looking to take charge.

With no Rory Lobb, expect the Dockers to target Taberner frequently.

Serong to have 20 or more disposals

Caleb Serong is an absolute jet and has been so consistent this year.

Entering his third season, Serong has already shown that he belongs at the elite level and with his good mate Andy Brayshaw in great form, Serong should run free at his own will.

Serong is averaging 25.4 disposals in 2022 and against a side that generally doesn’t send anyone to a midfielder, we’re expecting the young bull to have 20 or more disposals.

Going to be a late turn up if there is a crowd.. Trains in the SE all delayed by up to 30 mins  .

As for the game, just got a feeling it won't be another narrow loss tonight (touchwood). I think if we turn up to play and match them in the guts we'll win by 3-4 goals. If we don't, we'll get done by 8 goals with the game over by half time similar to the GWS round 22 game last year. Tonight is a measure of how much we still want and believe in this season.

Broad off with a knee issue

Modern 'footy' (netball-football) sucks so much. Just a bunch of guys marking ground and happy handballs all the way to goal.

Give everyone 12 interchanges a match and no sub and see how much they run up and down on the spot looking pretty.

Should have been away again from the centre bounce and we fumble several times and they waltz inside 50 and kick their 3rd

Dockers can't take the heat at the moment.

Decent last 10 mins in general play. Started to attack the ball and not be reactive. Got us back in the game. Still missed a couple of gettable goals. If only if grandpa Ivan could bend over to pick up the ball  .

Forward line looks impotent without Castagna and Aarts. Need some unpredictability--like the level of unpredictability where even OUR players don't know what they're thinking.
