Out: Me

In: I'm out

Ooroo

You’re an utter pain in the arse anyhow

Wow, Ease up Damo, Broady’s given us comedy gold for weeks now. I think he should stay and keep us fully entertained whilst we watch our team crap away another season due to missed opportunities and poor decisions.

Nah
He’s just WAT with a slightly higher IQ

Been wanting to say it for weeks

Team tips:

Josh Gibcus should be ready to return if given the call up. Dylan Grimes had his glute heavily iced in the rooms after last week‘s draw but should be good to go. Tom Lynch is widely expected to make his return from a hamstring injury, while Jack Ross is a test with a knee concern. Ben Miller's place in the side will be an interesting one to watch after he was subbed off with a groin concern / cramp last week.

ps. Burge confirmed Lynch and Ross are available.

While Sheds is sadly nearing the end, I don't see us dropping him stuck on 299 games. That would be a massive call, Claw. We'd be hoping his 300th spurs the rest of the team as it did for Jack's 300th last year against Brisbane. It was the only match in the second half of 2021 that was good.

Anyway, I just want us to structure up properly and play blokes in their best positions FOR THE TEAM. Not this rob Peter to pay Paul stuff. We just seem to have too many defenders in the one side and are trying to play some of them as makeshift forwards. With Lynch back this week that has to end.

The issue is if Balta goes back into defence then where does Miller fit? Next week they may both play given Brisbane player 3 tall forwards. Who plays also depends if Grimes, Miller, Broad and Nank are right or not. However, for most games I can't see the need for 3 key defenders. If Nank isn't right then Balta to 2nd ruck and Miller stays down back.

Up forward, Maurice and Cumberland both need to play as both apply forward pressure.
Not saying they will drop him just saying imo they should. Plenty of games left to get him over the line it just should not be this week based on form.

I actually think your right, this week  Balta plays back on McStay, Miller gets Hipwood and Tarrant gets Daniher. That frees Grimes up to do his customary job on Cameron.

Would hope they give young Ryan a go as the second ruck third tall and Failing that play Gibcus as the third tall fwd.
After last week they have to rest Nankervis clearly struggling with injury and bloody take the opportunity to get a game into one of the two mentioned.

100% agree both MR-J and Cumberland need to play forward along with Bolton in there and thru the midfield.

Really think it has got beyond a joke!!! Collier-Dawkins needs to play and given his proper role. Think Ross may be a stretch but personally would play him as well.

The trouble with all that is favorites will need to be dropped and its not as if those favorites are in form its not as if we are in a rich vein of winning form either.

Outs: panic, missed shots at goal and giving away stupid free kicks
Ins: team ethos, sustained effort, clear thinking, sticking tackles

Ryan is unavailable due to concussion protocols.

In the Mix: Round 20

Tom Lynch (hamstring) should headline Richmond's inclusions this week, which will lead to an interesting decision made around the forward line. Noah Balta could be pushed back to defence, omitting Ben Miller. Young tall Josh Gibcus should also come into calculations, having played in the VFL over the weekend. Riley Collier-Dawkins (33 disposals, six clearances) and Thomson Dow (29 and eight) had strong performances in the VFL. Hugo Ralphsmith has had a few quiet games and could struggle to hold his spot.

Verdict: Lynch and Dow for Miller and Ralphsmith, with Short to be moved back to half-back.

Tough selection this week.

In: Lynch, RCD, Rioli, Gibcus (sub)
Out: Miller, Ralphsmith, Nank (managed)

Balta to defence, Baker into backline rotation, Rioli into forward rotation, Shedda onto wing. Gibcus is versatile enough to be sub. If we lose a mid, Baker can step up and Gibus goes into backbone rotation, if we lose a defender or forward, Gibcus goes there.

Agree FFV. It's not an easy choice this week.

We've been playing too many defenders in the side and plonking them out of position up forward with Lynch and Dusty out. With Lynch back that has to change this week.

Probably not fair but I'm not sure where Miller fits either if Balta goes back and both Nank and Soldo play? Brisbane are playing 3 tall forwards but Broad will likely get the third one (McStay). We don't play 3 tall defenders.

In: Lynch, RCD, M.Rioli (into the 22).

Out: Ralphsmith, Miller.

Edwards for his 300th will have to be in the 22. So that means either Sonsie or RCD are the sub. Went the extra bigger bodied mid in RCD to give Prestia and Cotch a chop out so that sadly means Sonsie will be forced to the sub for this week  :-\.

While I believe RCD should get a game, he deserves it

I'll be staggered if he does

Reckon he will be named in the squad but miss out again

After reading the player summary from last week's VFL game by the coach (RCD had a "good" game)  My gut tells me he won't and they will go with Dow or Aarts again  >:(

Going by what Dimma said in his presser today:

Miller is unlikely to play (see other thread).
Grimes expected to train today and be fit to play but we won't know for sure until tomorrow (how he pulls up from training).
Lynch of course is back.
