He's overrated imo.

Marshall missing is nice I think he kicked 4 last time?

Marshall is infuriatingly accurate. Good for us that he’s out.

Port Adelaide v Richmond preview

Alex Zaia
SEN
5 August 2022

Richmond kept its season alive courtesy of a stunning come-from-behind win over Brisbane last week.

Trailing by as much as 42 points, the Tigers staged a stirring fightback to snatch a seven-point victory to stay in touch with the top eight.

With three winnable games to finish their home and away campaign, Richmond remains in the finals hunt.

Victory over Port Adelaide on Saturday night could see them move into the eight by the end of the round.

The Power’s finals chances are all but over following last week’s six-point loss to Collingwood, their third consecutive defeat.

Port (8-11) sits 12 points behind eighth-placed St Kilda with three games remaining.

Coach Ken Hinkley conceded his side hasn’t played well enough to warrant a finals spot.

“Are we good enough to compete with the best teams in the competition? That is clear, we are,” Hinkley said after the Magpies loss.

“But we haven't been good enough to play finals this year.”

The last three games between these two clubs have all been tight contests.

Damien Hardwick’s side won by 12 points at the MCG earlier this year, but lost to the Power by two points in Adelaide early in 2021.

Richmond’s season has been a topsy-turvy one, but are they hitting form at the right time?

Tip: Richmond by 11 points.

Georgiades is yet to turn 21 and is exactly the type of tall fwd we don't have on our list. reckon he is travelling nicely and if he was a tiger supporters would be raving.

Pretty sure I read we would have drafted him with our pick if PA hadn't

He's probably just not having a great year but this year I don't see a lot to get excited about.

I would take him because we have basically no forwards but he's not the type of be trying too hard to trade in.

THE CERTAINTIES FOR ROUND 21

Alex Zaia
SEN
5 August 2022

Port Adelaide v Richmond

Wines to finish with 20+ disposals

The reigning Brownlow Medallist continues to rack up big numbers.

Wines is averaging 27 disposals per game in 2022 and is coming off a 30-disposal performance against Collingwood last week.

The Power star collected 26 touches and five clearances against Richmond earlier this year.

Wines and co will look to put a dent in the Tigers’ finals hopes.

Bolton, Riewoldt and Lynch to kick a goal each

The trio combined for eight goals in Richmond’s come-from-behind win over Brisbane last week.

Lynch booted four majors while Riewoldt and Bolton kicked two each to help the Tigers come from 42 points down to keep their finals chances alive.

The latter dazzled with 12 score involvements and could’ve had a bigger day in front of goal had it not been for inaccurate kicking.

They could prove a handful for Port Adelaide’s defence on Saturday night in what is a must-win match.

For us to win tonight we need big games from the likes Graham and Ross tonight. Graham in particular has been ordinary lately and needs to lift... Plus Nankervis needs a good game and we need him to take contested marks around the ground. Good luck Tigers.

Long day ahead and already nervous. This season feels like the back end of 2014.

Yeah that's the one. From 3 and 10, dead and buried, to 12 and 10 and finals. In 2014 that was the most spectacular thing I'd ever seen a Richmond side achieve. Back from the dead! They did us proud that day. :gotigers

My favourite part of this video is around 3:40: Richo is in the commentary box at Adelaide oval and lets out a little yelp (squeal?) of delight when Martin kicks the sealer. Just couldn't contain it.  :rollin

What a ride it's been since then--simpler times when just making finals meant everything. Makes me realize that we don't have to go all the way this year, just show some heart and get everyone pumped like we did back then. Looking to Cumberland, Sonsie, MRJ, Miller etc for those moments.

Play 4 quarters we win simple as that have a first half like last week no chance need to take our chances , ramp it up show hunger , pressure like in our flag years and no passengers.

x2.

Yep, we need to bring the pressure across the park and match/beat them in the contested footy which is Port's one wood. We can't have a repeat of last year where after getting ourselves up for and beating Brisbane in Jack's 300th, we brought zero intensity the following week against Geelong and the game was over at half-time.
