Olivia Newton-John has lost her battle with cancer

She passed away this morning (Melb time) aged 73

Absolute icon and superstar who was a proud Aussie.

The Cancer & Wellness Centre that bares her name is world class. it is simply an amazing facility and a wonderful and deserved legacy

Still remember as a kid going with my parents to the old Maribyrnong drive-in opposite Highpoint to see Grease and Xanadu. Loved ONJ along with ELO in the soundtrack of latter  :clapping.

Just an amazing career. A stack of hit singles, won four Grammys and starred with John Travolta in Grease and with Gene Kelly in Xanadu. Of course, she gave so much back fighting that bastard of a disease in cancer and as WP said the Cancer & Wellness Centre is her other massive legacy.

Such a sad week for Australia and Australian music losing three icons :(.

Spot on Damo

I meet Oliva Newton-John at a special pre-opening function they had for donors to the ONJ Cancer Centre back in 2012.

She was there and was just so friendly. Spoke to everyone.

I was lucky enough to get a photo with her. I felt embarrassed asking and said so and she just smiled and said "don't be" and she added  "thanks for supporting the Centre".

Just had this great ability to make people feel special.

fantastic lady, brilliant human being

Nice Links MT. Product of getting old, but one by one we are losing some of the greats.

I wonder if her last attempt was just plant based. I have a client who only wants plant based at curing the same disease, and no other method.

Hope it works out for her.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.
