Put together 2 good games in a row ( one being a pressure final ) which is probably a first and will give him great confidence moving forward.

Two games doesn’t make a season
I’m giving this full seasons work a 3, and think I’m being generous

Hopefully it becomes a 6 or 7 next year and he becomes more consistent

I didn’t say 2 games made a season. I said his trajectory is heading the right way.
I gave him a 6 based on expectations and level of ability.
3 is ridiculous. That means he played way below expectations.
I’d give that to Dusty based on history. Not Ross

I did my rating on what was delivered
Not on expectations

Just a different way of forming an opinion I guess

Reckon his games vs top side Cats and in final vs Lions need a higher weighting. Also, he’s 21 and you’d need to acknowledge that at 21, a 6 is an easier rating at that point of his career than K Mac who has been around for nearly 10 years.
I know and respect you’ve rated him differently but I guess it’s also valid to use a different criteria to make a point with a nod to the future
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Gave him a 4 and thats being generous imo.

If we are going hard at Taranto and hopper what does that say about the likes of Ross RC-D Dow etc.

Just doesnt have the skillset to be damaging playing mostly outside. Trouble is he has done little to say he will be any good on the inside.

For me just a meh take him or leave type of player.

I give him a 3, solely based on his last 2 games.

Too slow for me and doesn’t impact enough contests. Won’t make it.

I don’t really understand why some are so negative on the young guy, I thought his second half of the year was rather good barring maybe a couple of games coming back from injury. His disposal seems to have improved, went at 83% efficiently this year vs 75% in 2022, while also getting more of the pill.
He’s also getting more dangerous, doubling his inside 50s and score involvements year on year, and he started hitting the scoreboard himself which I really liked, three goals in the last three games.
His back half to me was a 7, though the first half wasn’t amazing, I’ll say a 6 overall.

Still has not got back to what he was giving in his first season which was decent and promising for a first year player.

End of fourth season and 44 games under his belt here we have people wanting to rate him on two games this year.
Not real sure how his trajectory is going the right way when we got more from him in his first year.

There is a body of work to judge him by so why not judge him by it.

Every year he has had mostly mediocre games with the odd good one here and there to keep people on board.

From the RFC website:

In his 15 senior appearances for the season (several as the medical substitute), Ross averaged 16.7 disposals, 4.6 marks, 3.1 inside-50s, 4.9 score involvements and 282.5 metres gained.

But if you look at his last three games of the season, those averages were substantially boosted – 21.0 disposals, 6.6 marks, 1.0 goals, 4.3 inside-50s, 10.0 score involvements and 338.3 metres gained.

What stood out with Ross’ game in 2022, particularly at the tail end of the season, was his hard running and ability to create opportunities for teammates through efficient disposal.

Could find himself on the trade table, especially with Hopper coming in.
