Yup, I said it after his debut season, he could go on to have a very good 5-6 years for the club and it won’t matter to some as they’ve already cast their judgement.

Great game by him. Him and TT have a very important role in our rebuild shielding our mentoring our cub midfielders.

I think he and Taranto are more Richmond men than Graham, Bolton and that little twirp Baker will ever be.
All 3 were happy to stick around for the good times but ditched us the minute the going got tough.

We need both - they were huge in that second half when game was both won and saved.

It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I've heard it all now HRT. :lol Bolton I agree with but baker and graham I cannot.

Il never forget what Graham did for the team, and baker well I saw a post shortly after the b&f  which was very positive. I have no issues with either of those boys.

Let's not forget he was a country kid who wanted to leave earlier as well

You left rioli out also.

I don’t know if leaving the club mid- contract is professional in every way.

would have been way better if he stuck around, played with little effort then left as a free agent instead

Yeah AT,
How unprofessional to have a best and fairest winning year and increase his trade value to the point we got a huge haul for a rebounding half back flanker.

Baker, Bolton and Graham all took the pee last year. It was disgraceful and undermined a lot of what they contributed.
It’s no coincidence that we are already at the same win/loss record after 6 rounds after having those gobshites leave.

A huge haul is a bit of a stretch, I would say a fair haul for 6 and 23 alone but sending back four late picks wouldn’t make it a huge haul but I take your point, it’s a reasonable one to take.

6 and 23 for a 28yo half back flanker and picks we weren’t using

GREAT trade .. thanks Dan for your service

The guy knew he was leaving, and won the best and fairest while the others took the pee (especially Bolton) ..

100% Damo.
In other words,  Smillie and Harry Armstrong. Me thinks that is a heap better option for a rebuilding side than a 28 yo flanker. Not to mention that $800k plus it frees up for a key position free agent in 2-3 years time.

I think it was a fair trade and relation to the four late picks, we could have bundled them together for a higher pick. Either way, he’s gone, so has Dimma, and they would’ve gone to sleep last night with our club song playing over and over in their heads.

I don’t begrudge any of the 4 guys for leaving, each one has helped speed up our rebuild with the picks we got back for them.

If I really wanted to nit pick id say baker and Bolton were the 2 with the most legitimate reasons moving back to their home state. Graham well he was a whipping boy for the best part of 5 seasons. Rioli while he kept his performances at the most consistent and high level seems to have left for no other reason than not wanting to stick around during the tough times.

Again, personally have no issue with any of them, will always be Richmond premiership hero’s.
