RIP Queen Elizabeth II

The thing that stands out the last few years is her sense if humour

The London Olympics Queen & James Bond sky diving into the Stadium

And just this year for her Diamond Jubilee the "skit" with Paddington Bear was just priceless

Wish we had seen more of that

And then the saddest picture of her sitting alone at Prince Phillip's funeral last year. Refusing special treatment because Britain was in lockdown

And then the photos from the other day. Yes she looked frail but seeing her smiling a beautiful photo of her.

And FWIW I'm not a monarchist just always respected her
"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)

And now her truly inspiring and charismatic son gets to take over

Sigh

RIP Queen Elizabeth

x3 for the not a monarchist

Side note - after hearing she died I instantly thought of Paul Keating putting his arm around her .. the furore back then was amazing. You would have thought he’d gone the grope … could you imagine the reaction in PC correct softie 2022 .. the world would have stopped spinning

Great post WP.

Some of the stories today on 3AW about her were really funny.
