Richmond are heading to their maiden finals series and are in the box seat to keep the double chance. Win against North Melbourne and they’re likely in, given they’re about seven percentage points ahead of the Pies, who have to face ladder leaders Brisbane on the road.

But if the Kangaroos beat Richmond, their superior percentage would push them ahead of Richmond and into the top four. The Tigers have won seven in a row – in fact, after losing the first two round of the season they have been unbeaten, including a win over the otherwise rampaging Lions.

Are kelly and shevlin both in our best side? Just trying to work out how far off our best 21 or however many they play we are off.

Yep both in our best side.

A few lucky to be getting a game like Jacques and McDonald at the moment.

Shevlin definitely is

Beginning of the season I would have said yes to King but not now

The Seymour with Woods giving the chop out combo is working well

Yep both in our best side.

Disagree regarding McDonald, her lock down roles have super important during our winning streak

Thanks. Hopefully we get through the north game unscathed because it looks like they’ll pretty much have a full list to chose from for finals other than Williams.

The run home: Who makes top four?

Gemma Bastiani
womens.afl
26 October 2022

4. Richmond

28 points (seven wins, two losses), 154.7 per cent

The Tigers are locked in for their first ever finals series and are on the cusp of an unlikely top-four finish. Their match against North Melbourne on Sunday looms as the top-four shaper, with the winner likely to snatch fourth spot, and the loser to progress to an elimination final. For Richmond to take it, however, it would have to post its first ever win over the Roos.

Foxfooty.com.au predicts the first week of finals and more in The Run Home!

4. RICHMOND (7-2, 154.7%)

Round 10 game: North Melbourne at Arden Street Oval, Sunday 3:10pm EDT

Where they can finish: 3rd-5th with a win, 5th-7th with a loss

Analysis:
Seven consecutive wins have the Tigers in control of their top-four destiny. Beat North Melbourne and, as long as Collingwood doesn’t beat Brisbane by too much (which seems unlikely), Richmond will earn a double-chance in its first AFLW finals appearance. But lose and they could still finish as low as 7th, and at the very least a very tricky elimination final would be on the cards. Sunday is absolutely massive and will shape the first week of finals.

Prediction: Lose and finish 6th

-------------------------

PREDICTED WEEK 1 FINALS

First Qualifying Final (1st hosts 4th): Brisbane Lions host North Melbourne

First Elimination Final (5th hosts 8th): Geelong hosts Western Bulldogs

Second Elimination Final (6th hosts 7th): Richmond hosts Collingwood

Second Qualifying Final (2nd hosts 3rd): Melbourne hosts Adelaide Crows

Some fairly big names added to Richmond's injury list this week - Eilish Sheerin (thumb) and Courtney Wakefield (shoulder), both tests. Katie Brennan is a permanent test this season, managing a foot injury. In better news, ruck Poppy Kelly a test after a rd3 ankle injury.

8th most difficult?  ::)

Please it was a very soft draw compared to previous seasons. Have said so many times; there were no excuses to not make finals this season..it was soft

North this weekend will be our fourth against top 8 sides.

1. Brisbane       W
3. Adelaide        L
5. North*  ?
7. Geelong        L (should have won)
9. Gold Coast    W
10. Essendon    W
12. Carlton       W
13. GWS          W
14. Hawthorn   W
16. West Coast W

By comparison, North Melbourne will have played 7, Adelaide 6, Fremantle 6, Brisbane 5, Geelong 5, Essendon 5, GWS 5, St Kilda 5, Melbourne 4, Collingwood 4, Gold Coast 4, Carlton 4, West Coast 4, Bulldogs 3, Hawthorn 3, Port Adelaide 3 and Sydney 3.

So we've had a good run.

ps. We're not the only top 8 which has had a soft draw mind you. Melbourne who were runners-up last year, Collingwood and the Bulldogs have had a soft run too.

I based my view on where the teams finished in season 6

North, Brisbane and Adelaide were for memory the only finalists from season 6 we played

we got 2 newbies and all the others were either teams that came in with us or established sides that had lost a lot of talent and are now struggling
