Early prognosis

It was another horror weekend on the injury front for the Tigers, with three key players going down plus another four in the VFL. Lynch and Nankervis will be out for some time after undergoing surgery, while fellow talls Tarrant, Bradtke and Nyuon were injured in the VFL. Tarrant's hip problem will see him out of action indefinitely, with the club holding out some hope he'll return later in the year. Short is still a week away with his calf.

PLAYER              INJURY      ESTIMATED RETURN
 Jacob Bauer       Ankle            1-2 weeks
 Tom Brown        Wrist             1-2 weeks
 Seth Campbell   Groin             1-2 weeks
 Ivan Soldo         Foot              1-2 weeks
 Robbie Tarrant    Hip               1-2 weeks
 Josh Gibcus       Hamstring      3-5 weeks
 Mate Colina       Back             6-11 weeks
 Kaleb Smith       Foot             6-11 weeks

This was 20 days ago and Gibcus is still 3-5 weeks away.
A couple of weeks earlier, it was 4-6 weeks.

I know it was infected but time has stood still on this guy - surely rehab team can be more accurate than this ?

The injury happening is one thing but managing rehab should fall squarely on player AND conditioning team to get right.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Please don’t mention conditioning HRT. The teary brigade will have a meltdown.

I mean we run out games so well and look so fit. Luke is doing a great job.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

We definitely aren’t 4 quarters fit and our skills are very ordinary.

I don’t think the club did a great job this preseason and that’s what happens when you drop standards sometimes without even realising it.

It’s pretty clear.

Early prognosis
In a rare bit of good injury news for the Tigers, Jayden Short is expected to play against Melbourne on Monday night after three weeks off with a calf issue. Youngster Campbell is also a test ahead of a VFL return. Graham and Soldo are also closing in on returns, while Nankervis and Lynch now have rough timelines on their returns. – Sarah Black

Early prognosis
The Tigers are yet to update their injury list, given they played on Monday night. Rioli jnr suffered a hamstring injury in the dying minutes of Monday night's loss to Melbourne. They're hopeful of regaining Graham, and Nathan Broad's four-match suspension has now been served, and he is available to play Gold Coast on the weekend. – Sarah Black

If he does, will we get an extra pick?

Thanks.

If Taz's injury is seriously bad, then this could be a good way to get a young player in.
