Our backline apart from Young have been absolutely putrid this year. Our midfield coach needs to change things up. Week after week we get belted.
Problem starts up the ground. We don't protect the defensive side at stoppages and our small forward and mids don't stand defensive side front and square at aerial contests. Just allows the opposition to burst through out the front of stoppages as well as rebound with ease out of our F50 gifting them soft goals. It's been going on for the past three years and it's never been fixed. Tonight, it was so obvious and the Swans ripped us to shreds. The new rules allow for more old school footy yet we still haven't adjusted. Perhaps it's time for a clean out of our assistant coaches and bring in some new faces with new ideas a la 2016-2017 that suit the way the game needs to be played and defended across the ground under the new rules.

We need a response at selection this week.  Balta, Vlastuin & Grimes in the gun. And for f...ck sake get Baker out of defense. Plenty of it but butchered it all night

And play bring in who?

We had 4 AFL blokes playing VFL tonight.

We have 13 blokes on the injured list

There isn't much available

What's going on with Dion? Doesn't look like the same player.

I'm not surprised Cotch is looking the way he is, it was a shock that he decided to play on this year, but to see how quickly Grimes and Vlastuin look absolutely cooked is a bit of a surprise. Can't get Broad back quickly enough, and Short believe it or not.

But we are done for this year. We might win a few in the back half when we get a few troops back, but we are done.

You could ask that same question to most of the list

Yeah guess so, some showed signs last year, Like Cotch & Grimes. But he's really dropped off.

Been saying for a while, he's clearly not fit. We are much better off playing Ross or Dow. Time for some hard decisions at selection, even with very few to choose from.

Our skills and disposal is amateur stuff below afl standard the worse by a mile of any team.We got alot of senior players killing us on the ground not performing and doing stupid things put the blowtorch on them bigtime !.

Not seen anything that Taranto and Hopper has improved us in the guts we look worse.

Personally, I don’t think we should have subbed Cotch.

Had 7 possessions at 43%.  And was tying to chase a player but lost metres at every stride.

I’m not sure there’s a spot for him other than midfield but he’s not getting the ball like he used to.

Love the Cap but I don’t think this season is looking like it was necessary.

Our heaviest defeat since Round 8, 2021 against Geelong (63 pts) and our third heaviest across the past 4 years.

45 vs 81 pts scored from turnovers. That’s your ballgame.

Unsure if anyone is here is Adelaide but have tickets to just about every game this weekend. It's been good apart from tonight's result.

My biggest issue for this if it continues for years is the amount of neutral supporters who have attended games just attending to cause trouble. Last night, first half of Freo v GC and tonight's game Ive seen about 6 busy ups cause by random idiots trying to like fun at supporters for no reason.

Much better control in Vic.

Glad I’m overseas and have missed the last 2 weeks. Seems like Groundhog Day where we can blitz teams for 1-2 quarters and do nothing for the rest.

It's back to the lean years where my old Richmond brain is kicking in and saying things like, "we've been in every game we've played so far up until 3 quarter time."

Which means we are rubbish.  :rollin
