That might be the problem Andyyy. The broader worry - smallish - is that there appears to be a lot of inertia at the club at the moment in their decision making. That’s all well and good when you are killing it but when the rest of the competition starts to pull away from you then perhaps it’s time to also get an external perspective.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I hope we see a lot of the GWS game (for three quarters) and 3rd quarter versus the Eagles type gamestyle in 2026.
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do

And less of the going to water and turning up our toes for blocks of games where we were absolutely smashed (rounds 2-5 and rounds 13-17 avg margin 60 points).
There were significant periods of time where there was a lack of effort and defensive intent.
Being completely non competitive during games and for streaks of games is a problem so I would like to see how the team led by the coach can address this trend.
The guy has another 3 years to work it out but hopefully he can repay this extraordinary faith by punching a hole in this black mark next year.

The thing i want to see the most from yze this season is his and his assistants mixing things up in game to try to shift momentum. Especially in midfield it seemed like we ran with TT, Hopper, Prestia (when he was fit) for like 95% of game time even when they were getting soundly beaten. I want to see plenty of mid rotation for Lalor, Smillie (when fit), kmac2, Hotton, Cumming, Grlj hell even throw MRJ in there from time to time.

Tbf to the coach literally all of lalor. Smillie. Macca. We're hurt.

Hotton was coming off a knee so it was a good idea to limit mid time.

Rioli had one game in the middle. Sonsie a bit too

So...you think there's an issue with our current board and they've made a mistake with this?

What were your expectations going into 2025? Were they realistic?

We achieved as much or more than I was expecting and hoping. Won a fistful of games, missed on a few more, got flogged plenty of times, but avoided the spoon.

Yeah I didn't like the noncompetitive games but heck we fielded a young side, lots of experience into the kids, had just moved on mature bodies like Bolton, Baker, Rioli, Graham etc.

Inconsistency is essentially the primary symptom of a younger side...so it didn't surprise me even though I was disappointed and I really don't think it's a head coaching issue.
