Imagine being upset if Graham Arnold walked out on a contract. 65 could run the Socceroos better than that fella

The opposition would soon wake up to every attack coming from the left side... :shh

Not going to be sad to see Arnold go if he does but it says a lot about the terrible state of the FFA that even their anointed favourite is also considering leaving.

Ante Milicic is the favourite to lead the Matildas to the Women’s World Cup as interim coach, with Football Federation Australia to make a final decision in coming days.

It’s understood the former Socceroo was approached by the governing body to put his hand up to replace Alen Stajcic on a temporary basis following the hugely contentious sacking last month.

The Matildas have gone retro 90s for their World Cup kit.

The Matildas coughed up a 1-0 half-time lead to lose 1-2 to Italy in the last minute of injury time  :P.

I hate games being decided by penalty shootouts as it's meant to be a team sport not individual roulette. However, ignoring that, the failure at this World Cup ultimately comes back to head office. Both men's and women's national teams lost their respective head coach within 6 months prior to the Cup. So 4 years of planning and playing a certain gamestyle especially defensively are just thrown out. No team is going to go far in that scenario. The FFA and its culture at the top have a lot to answer for.
