Conspiracy theory time .

Mcauliffe has been deliberately held back so he can make his debut in Gather round, his home state .

McAuliffe - BOG. Middle quarters especially. Took him a quarter to get going but when he did he was in everything and was heavily influential on the game and the win. Hopefully gets to make his AFL debut next week.

Naismith - Very good game from the big bloke. Kept his focus on the ball despite the late off the ball cheap shots from that idiot Ladhams.

Smith - his best game for us so far. His set up behind the play and use of the ball especially in the middle quarters went a long way to us winning the match.

Samson - Hurt his ankle in the first 10 mins but played on and seemed to gain confidence as the match went along. When up forward played for and won the front position and made the most of his chances to kick 3 (I thought 4) goals.

Coulthard - Another one who got going after quarter time. His pace and keeping his width on the outer wing in the 2nd quarter gave our defenders and mids a free outlet to attack through. Matty's best game in a while.

Green - Solid game. Got better as the game went along.

Hugo - only played the first half. Okay overall. A nice long goal to put us in front though.

Kosi - Would've had 5 shots today but didn't kick a goal. Kicked 2 behinds, 2 OOTF and 1 that didn't score and stayed in play (although to be fair they were all shots from a pocket bar one which was directly in front and a poor miss).

Cumberland - Ordinary day. Thought he was too selfish today. Cost us two goals trying to do it all himself rather than give it off to a free teammate. It's sadly performances like today that keep him in the ressies.

Maybe he needs to work on his defensive game.

Play some outside mid time.

Maybe check out HBF and see how he goes.

Find a useless HFF where he can get no opportunity and get dropped.

McAuliffe wasn't BOG.  Naishsmith and Smith were miles in front of him. Calm down with him

I'd rather see him than Dow. Seen enough of soft timid players that bring nothing.

Yep. That’s the problem when you make up your mind about a player
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
