The conditions were perfect for footy - no wind, great surface, great turn-up of supporters and a position in the 8.
They should have been playing like they were one point down in a grand final with a minute to go.

Won't be highlighting players when it was a total team non-effort IMO.

Positives was Patto i thought.  Looks like a clumsy Ben Holland lol, but really tried hard today.

wallace was just plain stupid today, i hope he comes out and does a blight and publicly bags tiv, hall add staff and himself. cant beleive they used dixon to drag raines deep back and wallace didnt make a change .....bloody fool

what have we learned today

a few things
1/ staff should not play again
2/ tiv should not play again
3/ hall should not play again
4/ deledio is getting lazier by the week
5/ tuck is quickly losing his touch and needs to start putting in , he is way down on last y
6/ we still cant tackle
7/ goal kicking is crap
8/ tiv i repeat should not play again
9/ we still get ahead of ourselves and complaicent

nothing to do with the ground, its oval, and sticks on each end and no wind today. they were just plain lazy

the only positives to come out were
1/ brown came out ok
2/ petts is still playing well
3/ snake is still playing well
4/ the biggest positive today, patterson played fantastic and showed he will be a good player, he never gave up, deledio should learn from him. what peees me off about lids, is many times he had opportunities to take players on , one on one with his pace, but lacked the courage and desire to do so, rather he was content  to chip the ball. biggest sin in life is wasting talent, and deledio is wasting his by not taking ppl on

I agree that Wallace for all the good things hes done this year has to shoulder the majority of the blame for today. Hall made Franklin look like Royce Hart, Tivendale tries but in the end we are not going anywhere with players like Tivendale- league players need to slot more goals than they miss...tivendale was terrible today, stafford shouldnt have played and Schulz or Hughes should have come in...infact the size of the ground probably warranted both Schulz and Hughes coming in. Krakouer was average again today. We  have way to many passengers at the moment and whilst I dont agree that Deledio has become lazy the truth is he isnt impacting as wed like.

Pattison was good, busted his guts for his team today, Meyer again showed class with his goal...but we are a very ordinary outfit. We will finish 12th at best.

When you have 15 blokes having off days it's hard to win. Too many passengers who expected others to win the footy for them. Until we eliminate these performances we won't go forward. Everything to play for and we blew it. We could hardly hit a target and when we did we dropped crucial marks or fumbled up forward or in defence which cost us goals at both ends. And when we did finally hold onto a mark we kept kicking points  .

Most of our talls had shockers - Hall, Staff, Chubba and both Bowdens. Most of our midfielders got spanked. Tuck had a dog of a day as did Tivs and Lids. Our in and unders and crumbers weren't sighted - Krak, Blingers, Foley, Meyer, Polo and Hyde. We missed Richo and Cogs big time. Even Clarkson said after the game Cogs going off was a big help to them. Then again the Hawks had at least 6 of their best 22 out so we can't complain.

You do expect backward steps from us with such a young list but just so disappointing to take a big one today and with so many senior players down on form as well.

Agree on both counts Ramps. It's a nice thought to try and get Staff to his 200 but Sarge should have played.

I'm still trying to fathom why Terry didn't put Polo on Franklin. It wasn't as though Polo was containing Mitchell.

flat and disinterested is an indictment on a group of players who should have understood that winning today would have given them a chance of making the eight and losing meant not making it.

TW also said it fell on deaf ears.  I think it shows that the maturity isn’t there, as a team, just yet.

You could tell early on that our players weren't switched on.  The desperation wasn't there, as it has been in other weeks.

Other teams may have the experience and ability to turn that situation around, but apart from a few exceptions, our players couldn't switch on properly, and turn their form around, after a sluggish start.

Wheels will fall right of now. We'll have a long losing streak, if we can match 10 wins for the season that will be a good ending. As i said before, we will now get either pick 4 or pick 5 overall in the national draft.

If we fall away, Wallace will nail the offenders this time and theyll be out and if he doesnt, then he will go the same way as every other coach over the past 25 years. I expect big news to come from tigerland this time around. Wallace isnt stupid. Its either him or the serial offenders. My money's on the plough, the offenders will be out for sure.

If the wheels fall off now then that is just as great an indictment on us as being flat and disinterested today. We've come back straight after the Dogs and Swans hidings and after the break should be no different. We've got a tough draw against sides above us over the next 6 matches but you still expect to see the side to at least do the footy basics well, follow the run and carry gameplan and play as a team supporting one another. There was none of that today.
