Not Seb Ross / I’d consider getting an experienced key forward to give Tom Lynch a chop out and help support Gibcus. Other than that, we have enough experience across the other lines.

The talls are the problem there - Lefau & Young still  "kids" in AFL terms and the  latters a dud IMO,   Kosi is flat out out crap....Miller's useless as a 1 on 1 defender....Broad's aging and is either in the bests or worsts with no in between...would consider rookie-ing Brindley for experienced depth ...not a world beater but would give us solid coverage and a hardened body right down the spine....would rookie El Nour but he'll still basically be just another inexperienced kid....as I said reckon Garner's enough to add to the depth of experince in the guts....shouldn't be doing stupid crap like giving up picks for the likes of Phillips ,Hobbs , Binns or Tsatas or worse let Freo chuck us some spud like Brodie as steak knives instead of another good pick....

Looking at mature bodies, not AA squad players. Just need to protect the new draft haul.

The problem with 12 or 13 bigger bodies is some will be injured so we will have 10 and some of those will Be out of form there is no backup. We had that problem this year, if you play 10 kids you get reamed and none of them learn anything from 15 minutes of contested footy and 65 minutes of junk time.

There are also players who will mature in the next few years before this big haul does.

Bauer, Gibcus, Ryan, Hugo, Green, Campbell, Banks, Brown, Clarke, Smith, MRJ, Trezise.

You get the idea. They all have 1-3 or so years in the system now so we just need to survive another 2-5 years before this haul comes good if they ever so.

At the end of the day….if we can finish 18th with Baker , Rioli and Bolton in our best 22 , we can certainly manage that without them.

“Blow it up”: Cam Mooney’s advice for Richmond ahead of 2024 trade period

Geelong great Cameron Mooney has some simple advice for Richmond and their current list predicament. Blow it up.

Mooney’s comments come after the Tigers finished 18th in the 2024 AFL season, landing them the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft.

As well as having the top pick, Mooney thinks that the Tigers should trade out anyone with high trade value – including Daniel Rioli, Shai Bolton and Liam Baker among others – to load up at the draft in the next couple of years.

Mooney thinks it’s imperative that Richmond hit the draft hard now with Tasmania joining the competition in 2028 given the number of picks they’ll have at the top of upcoming drafts to build their list from scratch.

“Blow it up, I reckon get rid of anybody who is worth a pick,” Mooney told SEN WA Breakfast.

“Otherwise, they're going to spend a long, long time down there because with Tasmania coming in we know the story there and what happens there with those picks coming up.

“So, you've got to get as much young talent through the door or 22-to 25-year-olds through the door in the next couple of years of as quickly as you can.

“If you've got a player that is worth particularly a first-round pick, you move him on and that's just the brutal mentality of what football has become.”

Mooney also thinks that it’s important for Adem Yze that Richmond’s youngsters and draftees start showing signs in the next couple of years so that he remains in the top job going forward.

“They've been a great club, they've been great servants, they've been premiership players, but these players don't want to hang around either and spend the last few years of their career, winning three or four games,” Mooney said.

“If they're lucky, they want to move on and you do that, you're bringing all this young talent in because Adam Yze probably has only two more years.

“If they don't look like they're improving, he might be out the door and that's his last chance.”
