Was tempted to head over to catch up with some friends but won't bother now we are going to the Barossa

To expensive now

The whole thing is a farce! We went last year, we got on early and still had to pay a fortune for airline tickets, and a fortune for accommodation. When tickets finally went on sale we could only get the Saturday afternoon and evening game before the rest sold out! Went all that way to watch two teams you don’t even barrack for. This year I have used that cash to upgrade our Memberships. Would rather see our money go back into the club than the coffers of the AFL and South Australian government!

Its a pretty poor round in most ways.  The only decent match is Port v Hawks, thanks to some manufactured hype ...  Yawn ...     :sleep

We've been flicked (as expected) from  the opening round nonsense

Carlton also removed as we play them in round 1, so they can't be part of it as it would supposedly give us and advantage

Blues should be thanking us :rollin

------------

THE AFL is banking on Sunday night football as its newest initiative for 2025, with next season's fixture set to include a host of games in football's fresh primetime slot.

It's understood the 2025 fixture, which is set to be released later on Thursday, will feature nine Sunday night fixtures in the opening 16 weeks of the campaign.

The initiative is born from the new TV rights deal, which kicks in next season, with Channel Seven set to broadcast a handful of the Sunday night games.

Sunday Night Football absolutely yuck. Twilight is bad enough.

I can't think of anything worse than going to the footy on a Sunday night, losing to a rival, getting home at 11pm and then realising I've got 5 work days ahead of me.
Go Tigers!

23 Thursday nights

Sunday nights

Floating fixture

Just further proof the AFL care little about the fans

All fixturing decisions made to appease the broadcasters only

And just a reminder if you don't have Foxtel or Kayo in 2025, there will be no Saturday night footy*** for you.

Ain’t that the truth. Can barely tolerate Sunday nights as is.

Well so much for my Dreamtime at the G being the exception for a Saturday night game being in FTA in 2025

From Mitch Cleary x

Dreamtime at the ‘G is moving from Saturday to a Friday night in 2025.

Essendon will face Richmond on the Friday night in round 11

Thursday nights are awesome. Get it’s tough on folk coming from regional areas tho
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
