That was stuffen horrendous. I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a season less than this year

Well then, you have no stuffing idea how to follow a team that’s beginning its ascent.
Seriously, if that’s all you’ve got, stuff off and come back in 3 seasons.

As a supporter, you offer less than the players you bag so delist yourself!

The club deserves 2 seasons to reset.
Sure, there was some stuff, particularly defensively that was sub par.

But honestly, if after last year’s trade period, you expected any better than tonight/ you are an idiot.
:rollin :lol
The club that keeps giving.

Just got home

Bitterly disappointing night not so much the scoreline but the lack of applying the basics.

The lack of defensive pressure in our forward half was horrible. Our goal kicking was deplorable.

Some of the decisions around when players came on was puzzling to say the least.

Trainor and McAullife showed more in the half they played than a number of others. Why did it take until the 2nd half for them to make an appearance?

Why was Dow given so much game time and what's this business of trying to turn him into a winger? It was just the same old same old. We should be past that now.

I think we saw tonight what a huge hole no Balta means to our defence. As Noah sits on the stands for the next few weeks hope he realises what his actions have cost the club. Guarantee when Noah is available, we won't be playing Miller  :pray. Blight is a much better option right now

While it was a disappointing night I don't think any of us should be surprised or shattered by the result. It was what most are expecting...

Tackling & pace still not a priority apparently. Good luck with that approach Adem. :shh

Also good to see Yze continue with his policy of giving Dow full games while restricting McAulliffe to 10 minute cameos at the end. :clapping

We’ve all experienced “ground zero “ before and that’s exactly where we find ourselves again .

The positives …
Trainor looked great
Blight was solid
Hopper was good
Short might be in for a better year .
Collingwood wasted such amazing accuracy in a practice match .

Buckle in boys , it’s going to a turbulent ride .

Just a pre season game I know but I would’ve liked to see a better performance.
There were some positives, we were able to turn the ball over in our forward half pretty well.
Trainor looks the goods, has good competitiveness too.
Same with Armstrong and Sims, they cracked in and weren’t scared, all you can ask for at this stage. Like sims cracked in harder than Samson ffs.

What’s concerning is our senior players just make such basic skill errors, what hope do we have if that’s the case ?
Hopper handballing in hope to no one or straight to Collingwood. Ross pretty hopeless too but I thought he got better as it went on. Miller disgraceful effort. Nothing from our small fwds… Campbell showed a bit when he ran through the midfield.

On the midfield, so one paced and slow, as we all know after last years debacle. Watching Daicos zip around makes hopper,Taranto, Ross look like cones.

Don’t expect much this year but the worst case scenario is we get nothing from our experienced players and no development from the guys 22-23Yo+

I fear a 90% list turnover is needed

I'm convinced we're a big chance of getting a priority pick this year 4 wins in 2 seasons

Didn't watch a second of it.

On paper it looks like the strongest side Pies could field vs a very 50-50 tigers side with some vets rested again?

Regardless we're going to be smashed this year. Often .

Is it quite possible that our 7 draft picks will all be best 22 by about round 6.

Lalor and Smillie probably already are. Trainor looks like he will be even with Balta back. Balta Gibcus Broad Trainor Short and Vlastuin our best backline with Blight on bench.

Faul and Armstrong walk into this side. Lynch probably keeps one of them out but I'd play both as much as possible. Well ahead of Ryan. Bauer unsure. Lefau unsure.

Hotton and Alger a matter of time before walking in. Hotten does when he's fit. Alger id be pushing.

Be just about a record of 7 draft picks being in best 22 the following year. Can't see it not happening with all being fit.

I cannot see Faull playing much if at all this season TBBH

Stress fractures of the back are l8ng term injury and shouldn't be rushed. Slow approach like they did with Fawcett is the way to go.

Two extra points for me.
1. Allowing the opposition the easy outlet kick from a behind.  No Richmond player anywhere near them.  Was a concern for me and seems a basic set up error.
2.  Does the young team tag become a self fulfilling prophecy where the players on the team just expect to wear down as the game progresses.  I understand that 10 year players are going to be fitter and stronger but 18-23 year olds are still men.  I'm sure it's obvious but I wonder if it plays on the minds of young teams and can be used as an out or an excuse for poor performances.
That is all.

Hope so. Looking forward reading detailed analysis of kicking actions along with the astute criticisms of phantom players again.  :shh
