Short steps still getting talked up in the media. How freakin poor has he been.
McIntosh over McAuliffe its laughable.
Ross had his best game in rnd one but like his whole career he then proceeded to go missing god knows for how long this time.
Dow really he is clearly not an answer but is never dropped throw in Hopper and Taranto and we have the slowest worst midfield in the comp.
Sonsie does he help im afraid not.

Yze is in ga ga land.

Welcome back Crawski. It’s been far too long.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

So speaking of our midfield....we have a young star in Lalor, who had a ripper round 1 and then 2 average games....would you think he should rotate through the midfield just to get near the pill? Get a bit of touch and then move back forward. Only needs to be a couple of bounces a qtr. Surely it wouldn't hurt his learning?! He wouldn't do any worse than our current setup?!

I think he's tired already and needs a rest personally

Or just needs to build his match fitness, which can only be achieved by, you know, actually playing matches... :shh

Agree wazza, being put into our forward line can be like footy purgatory for long spells. Understand there’s not much choice for the kps, but the smalls/mediums need to be rotated around the ground to actually see some action. Lalor is the biggest example.

And disagree strongly Andy, if any player be that in year 1 or year 15 needs a rest after 3 games then that’s just poor conditioning. It wasn’t too long ago, players came in and played the full 22 games. Understand sports science is evolving yearly but 3 weeks is ridiculous unless injured.

I'd certainly be giving him more mid-field minutes

Will actually help vast track his development IMHO, get him the middle so he can learn of the some of best mids in the comp. Lions have such brilliant mids, reckon Sam can learn alot this weekend

When Lalor has attended centre bounces or stoppages around the ground I have watched him closely. His not even close to being ready for it imo. Another pre season, or maybe even towards the end of this season he may be able to have an impact but atm he’s not up to the pace and is ball watching

Yes, I do agree he looks out of depth in the few games so far, but I guess the thought is if we are running with macca/hopper or even dow in the middle, we may as well persist a few games rotating him through. Only one way to get better and that's to be involved. It's not like winning games is priority #1 ATM!!

I understand that thought process and I’m not saying whether I agree with that or not, but the club will be thinking of protecting Lalor and easing his exposure to the pace and intensity of AFL.

If he plays significant mid minutes and gets battered and barely touches it, his confidence may take a beating and it can be hard for young guys to recover. Perfect example is Jack Watts.
There’s layers to this stuff,  but next year I expect more

Lol. The old Jack Watts. Poor kid. Never stood a chance.
Yep I get it. I only thought a handful of mid minutes a game. Not massive amounts. I get he is young and learning all aspects. He is super composed already with ball in hand. Can't wait to see him develop (as long as it's in yellow and black) :gotigers
