Richmond has suffered an 82-point defeat at the hands of St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After a promising first half, which saw the Tigers trailing by just nine points at the main break, a difficult third term unravelled the potential to snatch a victory.

Seth Campbell lit up Marvel Stadium with three stellar goals, channelling footballer Viktor Gyokeres with one celebration, but his efforts weren't enough to see the Tigers over the line.

Winning the second term with four goals to St Kilda's three, Jacob Hopper nabbed 10 of his eventual 25 touches, while Tim Taranto collected five of his eight clearances.

Luke Trainor showed first-half promise with run and flare off the half back line, while skipper Toby Nankervis had seven clearances to go with his 21 disposals.

The match took a turn for the worse in the third term, with Richmond unable to stop the onslaught of St Kilda goals, allowing them six majors to Richmond's one before the final break.

Kaleb Smith replaced Harry Armstrong in the third term and took an impressive mark.

Kamdyn McIntosh kickstarted the final term with a goal just 57 seconds in, but it wasn't enough to inspire a comeback, as the Saints charged home to take the four points.

Jayden Short was best for Richmond, managing 26 disposals, followed by Hopper's 25. Campbell's three majors left him as the only multiple goal scorer of the evening for the visitors.

Richmond now look ahead to their Round 4 clash against Brisbane at the MCG next Saturday.

This what really peeves me with reporting

The above article says Short was our best with 26 disposals

The number (quantity) is irrelevant in this case, his game was very poor. How many of those 26 disposals didn't hit a target or were turnovers or were short dinky nothing kicks?

Yes he had 26 disposals but he was long way from our best

Short was disgraceful
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”
