The Young Ones
« on: May 12, 2025, 12:36:12 PM »
Aside from being one of my favourite tv shows, our "Young Ones" are starting to show plenty.  We went big & we took some powerful forwards.  Its starting to work.

Jonty Faull hasn't set the world on fire but he does have plenty of genuine talent.  A couple of grabs have been top notch, good mobility for his size.

Harry Armstrong was looking excellent before an injury, now has the chance to smash the gym for a few months.  Can't wait for him to get back.

Tom Sims was a surprise packet this week.  Plays like a tall but showed he can also crumb ground balls & deliver lace out specials.  Looks like a stretched version of Jack R!

Luke Trainor has shown plenty too.  Big defenders can take time to develop but he's showing plenty of talent.  Composed, efficient & top quality.

While he's not in the KPF group, Sam Lalor is just sheer class.  Future captain ... enough said.  Pairing him up with Smillie will be a treat.  Liam Fawcett missed a year, but he is in the group too.  Alger is developing well & could be a small forward to crumb off the big guys.

As the song goes, "Once in every life time ..."
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

It looked doom and gloom this time last season,  but one good draft and we have built the hardest part the spine still water under the bridge,  but forget about Reid take those 2 top 6 picks to the draft and get some more capital.

Lynch is critical to those key forwards. I really hope he stays for another season or two as it will accelerate their development.
Need a one two knock out punch in the midfield. Lalor could be one but he could also be a Toby Greene type. Hopefully that happens this off season
Like Lynch, Taranto and Hopper are doing a mountain of work supporting young midfielders
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Reckon Tom Lynch goes on 2026, helps fast track the Cubs

Great interview/auricle in yesterday's HUN with big Tom

In the article he talks about how he's loving mentoring the kids and won't be playing anywhere else but Richmond

And no, I can't post the article it's behind their paywall
