One team pins the arm in the tackle (Dogs) and the other (us) doesn't. We are ones of the worst tackling teams at both levels. Need to get a decent tackling coach down to Punt Rd who will teach us proper tackling technique.

OHB with two hospital handballs this quarter setting up teammates  :help.

He is horrible. Need another full ruck this off season
OHB alright in the ruck. He's been okay so far this year. Needs to stick to playing within his limitations. Like many of his teammates today has been below par.

Colina on the hand is a totally useless. Why is he even getting a game?

Consolation goal to Street. He's been our best today from an ordinary batch.

Colina has done his right shoulder. In a lot of pain. Aided off by a trainer.

Siren puts us out of our misery. From leading at half-time to the Dogs doubling our score by the end  :help.

Final Score

Richmond   2.1    4.5      5.9      6.9-45
Footscray   3.2     4.4     8.9    13.12-90

Goals: Fawcett 2, Lefau, Raso, George, Street.

Had the better of the first half in general play but failed to put it on the scoreboard. Connection (or rather lack of it) between mids and forwards was terrible all game.
Second half was one of the worst displays of footy you'll ever see. Soft and casual with sub-Auskick level skills, tackling and decision-making. Overall, just pathetic!  :banghead

Only positive was Hotton's cameos when he came onto the ground. Blight the only other AFL-lister who could hold his head up high. Whatever happens in the AFL game later today, there's little pressure for spots coming from below based on today's so-called 'effort'.

Richmond VFL outclassed by formidable Footscray

By Connor Burns
RFC website
22 June 2025

After a promising first half by Richmond's VFL side, Footscray kicked nine second half goals to overrun its opposition and win by 45 points.

It was a hot start to the game with both teams putting on fierce pressure, as Footscray got off to the perfect start with a goal to Caleb Poulter.

The Tigers then dialled up the heat and locked the ball inside 50, with Liam Fawcett the beneficiary of that as he slotted a nice goal.

Minutes later Massimo Raso found space inside 50, pulling down a nice grab before casually slotting his first goal of the afternoon.

But as the quarter neared its end, the Bulldogs kicked two quick goals through Lachie Jaques and Poulter again, giving Footscray a seven-point lead at quarter-time.

Richmond continued to own territory and inside-50s in the second quarter, but failed to get reward with multiple missed shots and turnovers.

Late in the first half the Tigers led the inside-50 count 30-16, before finally some reward for their efforts late in the term, with goals to Mykelti Lefau and Fawcett. The late burst allowed Richmond VFL to get their noses in front at the main break, leading by just one point.

Footscray responded brilliantly after the break with a goal in the first minute of the quarter to take the lead back. That sparked a dominant quarter, as it was the Doggies turn to control inside-50's, resulting in three consecutive goals.

Liam George stemmed the flow, kicking a much-needed goal for Richmond after roving the ball off the pack, then selling candy before finishing with a classy goal.

But a late goal to Footscray’s Xavier Kardachi gave his side control and an 18-point lead with a quarter to play.

Things continued to get better for the Doggies with back-to-back goals from Will Lewis to start the last quarter blowing the margin out to beyond 30 points. They continued to ride their momentum and finished strongly, kicking nine goals to the Tigers' two after half-time to run out 45-point winners.

Richmond    2.1    4.5    5.9      6.9     (45)
Footscray    3.2    4.4    8.9    13.12    (90)

Goals: Fawcett 2, Street, Raso, Lefau, George
