We were first to the ball in the first quarter and now its Werribee first to the footy. Hard to find a good Coburg player in the second term.

Half-time

Coburg     8.5   9.8-62
Werribee  2.4   9.7-61

Goals: Limbach 3, Rodan 2, Hartigan 2, Hughes, Neville

Stopped to a walk in that quarter.

Limbach - played very well and looks dangerous in the one on one contested marks but starved of footy in the 2nd term. Coburg's best so far IMO.
Hartigan - best on ground after the first but went missing.
Rodan - very good first term and still trying.
Humm - see Rodan
Howat - see Rodan and Humm.
Roachy and JON have been ok. JON missed two sitters.
McGuane - well beaten at FB (too light) and moved.
Moore - moved to FB and their FF is still on top. Hard to defend against the ease at which the ball in coming down though.
Hughes - one goal early on and that's about it.
Casserly - hardly sighted. Spent most of the time on the bench.
Chaffey - trying hard but looks gone even at VFL level.

Final Score

Coburg    8.5   9.8   13.10   13.11-89
Werribee 2.4   9.7    10.11   14.15-99

Goals: Limbach 5, Rodan 2, Hartigan 2, Hughes, Neville, Shelton, Mullins

Werribee had the scoring end but a woeful last quarter by Coburg. Pretty poor overall after quarter time.

Had a look and now a think about the game...for mine  very disappointing

Kelvin Moore- Its over for Kelvin. Wont make it at RFC I reckon.
Brent Hartigan- struggling should be traded.
Dean Limbach- kicked 5 today but will struggle unless he becomes the third tall ...cant play FF at AFL level. Mark & Kick game only at this stage.
Cleve Hughes- poor today, struggled to get it and impact. Beautiful goal in the first. You cant have both Cleve and Dean...for mine Cleve wins.
Travis Casserley- Hardly sighted, when sighted ran well.
Humm- Wont be at Richmond long for mine.
Tom Roach- Its not looking good for Thomas. Dont know how he can turn it around its just about over I think for Tom.
David Rodan- Good in the 1st quarter- no where after the first quarter. Its over I reckon.
Chaffey- Its time for Mark, good servant but its over for him to.
Howat- will struggle at AFL level but may survive for a year or two.
McGuane- Wont make it unfortunately. Behind 2 many. Hasnt come on. Just not AFL standard at this stage. Hopefully he can change it in next 10 weeks.
Oakley- Nicholls- will be fine in 12 months. Will be a good player.

Hard to disagree with any of that Ramps.
I thought Limbach was pretty good though. I'd persist with him as it's only his second year and he needs to add bulk. Remember Coburg's disposal and decision making after quarter time was abismal.
Cleve needs to work harder. Very poor today.
JON was one of the few Coburg players to hold his head up in the last quarter. Pulled off some important saving efforts in defence.
Casserly needs a preseason. Too young to judge.
I'm still scratching my head at us promoting Howat. He's so one-sided and will never play AFL level.
The rest are ok at VFL level but aren't good enough for the AFL. Another big clean out coming at the end of the year which is handy given the quality of the 2006 draft.

Limbachs problem is he only has 1 side to his game- mark & kick at 190cm at his weight hes not more than a 3rd tall. Hughes was abysmal today, has no 2nd effort at this stage, but the fact is you can sort of see with Cleve...another preseason in the gym and more instruction from the coaching panel, and just a commitment to a 2nd effort he will be good. The others its sad. I did a list before it had about 15 names on it, who arent future premiership players im afraid.

That's a fair comment about Limbach and AFL players do need more than one party trick but there's this spark about him that I like. He's still too light for the AFL though.

The exact reason why Wallace got 5 years and not just 2 years like Clarkson. It's going to take Terry's full term just to get the list into shape.

Brent Hartigan- struggling should be traded.

For someone who watches Coburg ever week - today was Hartigan's best game. Got a lot of praise from the coaches especially for his work off the ball.

Very unfortunate he went off with the foot injury.

Overall a very disappointing result by the Burger.

3rd quarter was very costly - should have put them away. Absolutely no run in the final quarter and very little pressure when the ball came out of the Burger F50 in the last
