Knickerbockers

Yep Knicks for the love affair I have with New York City that has grown in my adult life.
Loved Patrick Ewing and John Starks in the 90's was shattered when Hakeem Olajuwon and the Rockets beat us in 7 games in 1994. Nowadays Carmelo Anthony is a gun.

Back in the 1990's when the NBA was at its peak here I obviously loved Jordan but hated the Bulls, loved Reggie Miller at Indiana and Shaun Kemp at Seattle and I loved NBA Jam played that at the pinny joint in the Deli at La Trobe Uni back in the day. ;D
the early NBA Live games were the best in the series. The 90's had some of the best teams that never won titles.

Yep Portland with Clyde Drexler and Utah with John Stockton come to mind. Knicks in 94, Orlando Magic who were top dogs in the East with Shaq got swept in 95 by the 6th ranked Rockets led by Olajuwon. That was the height of the sport when MJ was at his peak even when he came back from his baseball hiatus can still remember the hype and his Bulls 45 singlet.
Can remember every night the sport bulletins back then on the news would just show a snippet of a MJ highlight after another. He really was a freak of a player.

How can you follow the Knicks and love Reggie Miller? He used to torment them for fun.  ;D

Knickerbockers
the old Knicks hey.......if only titles were given out in December

Aye brother

Loved Reggie Miller he was just another freak of a player and Pacers colours were black and yellow so I made the connection that way. I considered it like watching Gary Ablett Snr tormenting us at the same time which happened often back then also. :thumbsup

Miami are like Sydney or any other expansion AFL Club from a non footy state. New fans who without checking the internet would not know players from old rosters pre 2000.

Its amzing how success attracts people, as a kid I chose Charlotte as they were a new team and I wanted something different to the other kids who folliwed bulls, celts and lakers (90's)

I remember when the only thing good about miami was harold miner winning th Slam dunk comp
Dont think basketball will ever be that big here again unfortunately  :-\

Cant mention John Stockton without the mailman Karl Malone... ahhh good times  :thumbsup :cheers

'Melo be mad.
I watched till the end but must admit I had given up hope. Especially seems we relied on a Bosh rebound. His 8th of the season.  :lol

Buy a ring? That extra 6 mill we will be spending over the Knicks will be well worth it, while Stat punches a fire extinguisher.  :cheers :lol
