I have played tennis since i was about 9 years old and also coached for a while,

Roger Federer is going to be the greatest player to have ever played the game in my opinion.

He has such an awesome array of shots and will continue to improve with Tony Roche who is the master.

Federer has such an all round game that he is nearly impossible to get on top of.

Even when he does drop a set, he normally comes out and wins the next one 6-0 or 6-1.

Enjoy this Champion while he makes history.

How about that controversy re someone from Serena William's camp caught flashing his watch at the opposition?  Did look a bit suss.  And Sharapova coach blatantly coaching from the sidelines?

They shut the roof so no watch flashing today lol.  Sharapova had a whinge about the roof being shut for the final after being pumped by Serena. Jana Pittman missed her calling  :D.

horrible end to the ladies tennis
« Reply #93 on: January 27, 2007, 09:02:47 PM »
I thought that it really was a dismal end to the ladies tennis. I was going for Sharapova and that horrible looking thunder thighed Williams won. What a sham. That girl needs help but nit on the money side of the scale but on the scales she most definitly does. But over all I think that Nichole Varastova is the best looking one out there today, and had got a great future in the game and I will be going for GO GO Gomez tomorrow.

Any interest in the tennis this year?

Of the Aussies, Hewitt won in a canter 6-0 6-3 6-0 today and Alicia Molik won last night. Guccione lost in straight sets.

Well Hewitt's through to the 3rd round. Whether he'll get past a top seed is another question.

I hope the stuck up little pr!ck gets pumped.

I used to be a fan bit he has totally lost me lately, especially his excuse for losing last week in Sydney to the Guch. Blaming the umpires is no excuse, if he isnt good enough atleast be graceful in defeat and acknowledge that he wasnt the better player.

He is finished and wont go close to winning another major again, probably wont even win another tournament.

Yes the number of tournaments the little snotbag has won since marrying Bec is zero.

Hopefully he plays Bagdhatis in the next round and Marcos gives him a tennis lesson.

Wonder what pearls he'll come with next. After all he has no excuses he's been lobbying for faster paced courts for years. I hope the snotbag gets thrashed.

Well it happen Bagdadis was kick out of the tennis. I really like the way he played the game. But he was caught out and he was outed for what he was saying. But I bet if he was a footy player it would have been covered over some how.
I feel for him but if he said the things he said so be it. You say it you get in trouble.

We have to have rules but I think in this caes it wasa young fella with a mob of mates being happy and now he has to pay the price. Weather you agree or not, its a bloody crime to bring politics into sports.

 :-\ What ???

Marcus Bagdhatis hasn't been kicked out of the Aust Open.  :-\

His cousin had his VIP pass taken away (didn't stop him getting tickets for last nights game though).

There is a match on tomorrow night Hewitt -v- M Bagdhatis - channel 7 have been promoting tonight

Thanks WP. You would've thought it'd be all over the media if he had.

A good night for the Aussies. Casey Dellacqua has beaten Mauresmo  :clapping.
