For most of the 80's I lived in Sydney.  Went to one game a year. Tigers V Swans at the SCG.

Could sit wherever I wanted :)
Was one of the few that even new the rules  ;) . Yelling "BALL" was a no no.

And yes the swanettes were OK.

I left Vic in 1981 and came back in 1993. During that time the Tigers were crap. (but I still followed them)

On the plus side...
Watching the ressies
Sitting in the Southern stand watching the round 12 1988 win over Carlton when nobody gave us a chance.Wilsons handstand at the end was a classic.
Being able to Sit wherever you liked in the Southern stand.
Hot Four n twenty pie with white crow sauce.

Downside
Watching us loose too often.
Cold Four n twenty pie with white crow sauce.

Yeah wow - where do we start. This could take a few posts as things come to mind (Not many brain cells left)  :shh

Pros

early 80's
Trips to Geelong on the Red Rattlers.
Trips to Junction Oval on the Red Rattlers.
The 5:02 Lilydale express from Richmond - Camberwell - Box Hill - Ringwood , was home in a flash, used to go to nans as folks would allways be out, have nans famous stew and watch Hawaii 5-0. Funny the things that stick in your mind.

later 80's

The Richmond Disco at Punt Road - LMAO  :gotigers
Cans that you could stand on
Fences you could jump
Feral grounds you could go every second week and let them know we were ferals too. Burning holes in Collingwood umbrellas with my smoke when they got in the way.
All games on Saturday and scoreboards with updated results and horse racing results as well.

Cons

Probably the start of my alcoholism  :cheers

Ditto...My fave comment at the footy..."Fair dinkum Richmond you drive a man to drink!" and that they did... :cheers

The most common comments I remember from the 80's were "Mr Magic" for Maurice and "Mark Useless" for poor old Mark Eustice.

Seriously - I would love to see us wear the yellow shorts next heritage round, I though Essendon looked ok in the red shorts and instead of changing jumpers to avoid clashes this would certainly do it. Saves changing the famous strip at the same time. :gotigers

Yeah the Bombers' red shorts didn't look too bad. The modern baggy ones look much better than the old tight 80's ones with Don Smallgoods on then  :lol.

As for us wearing yellow shorts next time ... ah no! :help.

Btw didn't the side do the 80's RFC proud at the SCG. Just like old times  :P.

Not a clear pic of the yellow shorts but here's a young David "Demir" Cloke wearing them.
