Do believe that poor Kent had a few personal issues to contend with this year down at Skilled Stadium. A new place of employment would do wonders I reckon.

Dont tell me Thommo was cutting Kent's lunch also  :shh
:rollin :rollin  theres more too iy too shhhhhhhhhh! bit like an episode od B and B or days of our drearies  :lol

Kingsley was ordinary today in the VFL final from the few snippets I saw today. Still just a mark and goal kicker and an ordinary and unreliable one at that. Pass.

kingsley on his day can kill a team, seen him many times beat the bombers defenders easily. also kingsley seems to always play verry well at telstra dome, where we normally play like crap. he has the talent, still undecided if he will be any good 4 us, but the thought of him coming over and becoming a gun player and shoving it up the cats really gets me excited!  imagine he did come over and become a consistant good player and bags 9 against his old team !!
time will tell i suppose

getting back to the vfl final, conditions were the worst they have been all yr out there

He may be able to kill a team, it's a pity though that his day comes about as often as Santa Claus does each year.

PLough is a big kingsley fan,

tried to get him 2 years ago as part of the ottens deal.

Luckily this time around, he will be a hell of alot cheaper.

Look for our last pick in the november draft to be, Pick 65 Kent Kingsley  Geelong.

This will free up Shultz to defense, and as Jackstar has stated give hughes limbach mcguane more time to develop at coburg.

Will be an Ok pick up if he costs us nothing, otherwise not the type to chase IMHO.

always played out of position, and a bit hard to perform week in wek out when funny things are happening at the club if u know what i mean.
he played very well and consistantly in the preseasson and early in the season b4 "funny stuff" started at the club which distracted him. jay schulz hasnt been very conistant either, im not saying get rid of him, but he is too lazy to play up fwd, he plays a cameo role , kicks a couple then goes to sleep. imo, kingsley could do a better job than jay up fwd alongside richo and brown. i am sure if we get kent, terry would coach him far better and get the best out of him, ala pady bowden

I could handle us getting Kingsley with our last pick in the national draft esp if its in the 60s or 70s but gee youd be hoping wed do better than Kent Kingsley lol ... if we end up with the same picks and players of the calibre of Kingsley from the trade period then that will be a bad trade period for mine.

Agree wayne lol.

He kicked 8 straight against the Roos earlier this year and looked a million bucks then backed it up with none against poor skinny Hack Dawson.

According to the Age, Thorton wants to go to Hawthorn on a $300k 3-year deal.

However the Australian says Carlton is confident of retaining its required players, including Brad Fisher and Bret Thornton, who are both out of contract.

Blues general manager of football operations Grant Williams said he expected the pair, and another 10 uncontracted players, to agree to terms in the near future.

Richmond expresses interest in Thorton

Blues must retain defender: Fevola
Samantha Lane
The Age
October 1, 2006

Fevola has put the onus of retaining the defender squarely on the Blues' administration, rather than on his teammate, who has received an offer for a three-year contract worth around $300,000 a season from Hawthorn.

Carlton has tabled an inferior two-year deal, and is yet to match the offer. Richmond is also understood to have expressed interest in the 22-year-old, who is holidaying in Thailand with teammates but who has privately indicated he is prepared to change colours.

I can't see us getting him unless Carlton were happy with a direct player swap (Tuck?). The Blues would want at least a first round pick or more in a trade and Thorton wouldn't last until pick 8 in the PSD if the Hawks are after him as well.

It was reported that Hawthorn were prepared to pay approx $300k per season.

They can have him. He isnt worth that much.

I have never rated him as a player, waste of money IMO.
