Not a hoax as much as taking the p*ss and then running with a couple of funny threads/trolls.  He does have ability and an excellent work ethic/attitude, and it wouldn't surprise in the least to see him make it as a very good footballer.  Reality says though that he is still at least a year or 2 away if it is to happen.  If I was a betting man (which I am) I would say he is a cross between Foley, Edwards and King, and I would have a few dollars on him to 'make it'.  All IMHO.  :shh

Collo hasn't dominated any of the preseason scratch matches but he's done a few cameo things which stand out given we didn't see him last year.

from the Bendigo Advertiser

Former Sandhurst player Andrew Collins was the other ex-Bendigo Pioneer playing in the game for Richmond.

Collins, also drafted in 2006, started on the bench before playing a mix of on-ball and on the wing.

His debut season with Richmond last year was soured by persistent groin injuries, but Collins moved freely yesterday.

He kicked a goal in the third term, and Wallace says he’s pleased with how Collins is progressing.

‘‘He’s coming along nicely; he didn’t play much football last year after spending most of the year injured,’’ Wallace said.

‘‘And he has missed a fair portion of the pre-season training, which always makes it a lot more difficult, but he is now starting to come to hand and I expect constant improvement from this time onwards.

‘‘He’s a genuine midfielder who I think can be a handy player for us in the future.’’

AJTiger on Y&B is 99% sure Collins has re-signed on a new one-year deal.

Makes sense. Collo hasn't played AFL yet but he has been knocking on the door at times during the year in only his 2nd year. Next year is make or break.

Collins > Tivendale

And your point is? Bentleigh-eski

With Tiv leaving I wouldn't think it matters now

If we get the same amount of games out of Andy Collins as we did from Tiv, I reckon we'll all be happy

Collins > Tivendale
You're kidding yourself as usual
Tiva has 180 or so AFL games more than a kid who hasn't even debuted yet.
Feel free to compare their careers in 5+ years but Tivas form at Coburg has also been better than Collins

So stop making stupid comparisons

Andrew Collins - 2009 expectations?
« Reply #57 on: January 18, 2009, 03:24:10 PM »
Up next is Collo. 3rd year coming up and yet to debut.

What are your expectations for Collo this year and what would be a good return from him?

I have been a fan of his since we picked him up.  I believed then that he had enough talent to go with a strong commitment and good attitude.  I still think he has 'it' but if he doesn't debut this year and play at least half a dozen games then I'm afraid it could be curtains.
