Nearly a goal a game too which is a nice contribution. Only concern at the moment is he too right-footed like Tambling, and always looking to swing around on to his right.

It seems a lot of players are kicking the banana/checkside now instead of attempting a kick on the non preferred.

I reckon Collo could gets his left-foot up to a reliable standard though.

Callan Ward had a ripper and will be the main rival to Collins getting it.

Its a nice reward but the rising star nomination doesn't hold much credit with me since Raines almost claimed the prize in 2006. If Collo can be a consistent contributer and build upon his good form from this year over his career, then that would be the biggest prize he could claim.

Rich will win it this year but he won't improve much more from this season on. Natanui on the other hand....scary really.  :o

Andy will have to wait another round at least - Aaron Joseph from Carlton won this round's nomination.

We have been a bit stiff this year with this award, didn't Nahas kick 5 in about his 4th game of AFL footy and not get a nomination?
It would be nice to win something as long as it is not another meaningless game!  :pray

I guess the one positive from Joseph getting the nomination this week is the nominee doesn't haven't to be on the winning side to receive a nomination. So as long as Collo can keep up his current form then he has a chance when there's no weekly standout.

I think he will be a class act if he can manage to get and stay fit and healthy.

Got any articles about him?  ;D
