History says on average two top 8 sides from the previous year will drop out and one top 4 side will fall away. We're not talking about the flag or finishing top 4 which we have bugger all chance of doing this year but finishing in the top half of a 16 club comp. You could say that about Browny too and Richo and Joel. We lost Cogs and Newy for half the year as well last year. That's a depth question which we as yet don't have. That's why we need our youngsters to step up this year if we are to have any chance of making finals. Port won a flag without their premier ruckman and centreman but they had adequate replacements. Wallace is going to have to fudge it with Knobel, Patto and Polak which is why Simmo is a big loss.
