RFC website Poll - Preferred Coach
« on: July 09, 2004, 05:41:07 PM »
Who do you want to coach Richmond next season?

Rodney Eade 11%
Terry Wallace 43%
Mark Harvey 17%
Gary Ayres 3%
Garry Lyon 15%
Gary O’Donnell 11%

Anyone here changed their mind on who should be our coach?

Still want Sheeds >:(
Get over it Froars lol
Okay, i want the best coach available and that would have to be Wallace, even though he seems to hate the club.
If he's a professional, he should get over that kind of stuff too.
I want someone who can develop a list, with limited resources and Wallace can do that.
And i want someone who can represent the club in the media - Wallace can do that.
I don't like him, but i think he's the best option available at the moment.

Agreed froars.
If he coaches us I have to get over him making the doggies the biggest bunch of arseholes. Boy, I really hated them when he was coach. Unfortunately I think he's exactly what Richmond needs.

Today only confirmed we need a coach who will come in and toughen us up mentally as well as physically and who won't put up with Jeckel and Hyde performances like today.

While driving home and listening to 3AW - a tiger fan asked Rex Hunt who he thought was the best person to cach the Tigers.

Rex's answer was Terry Wallace on a 5 year contract. He said Terry had the ability to bring out the best in a group of players and that Terry would find it a great challenge.

I know I find it a great challenge week after week, year after year, to watch what we got dished up in the second half >:( :-[

You're not the only one WP  :P. The only consellation is the knowledge that in 7 weeks time we will hopefully be receiving a priority draft pick and Danny and, if we as a Club are serious, a number of these footballl pretenders will be gone and we can start really rebuilding. The only worry now is what is happening and what will happen off-field at the top and if any turmoil will jeapordise our chances of attracting the best coach.

I think Wallace.
He could star in a movie about us like he did in Year of the Dog
It would be called 24 Years of the Tiger- A modern day football tragedy :P

The people have spoken so its time to give us what we want.......

Note: To the people who ring 3AW and just ask him if he is going to coach us next year, are you honestly that deluded that you think he will just come out and answer?

Has to be Wallace doesnt it? He has the bite that we need...that mongrel in him. I know someone from his crew and if we get him as well, he will literally beat the crap ouot of a few players....

Thanks bulluss. I was ejected and I couldnt be bothered putting up a fight. Good to be here.

Im also a Terry Wallace supporter and i agree with OM21 that we need a coach who can:

1) get our young players to play for him
2) is young enough to gain the respect of our young players
3) be a dictator
4) be a mongrel
5) has substantial tactical nouse
6) wants to win a flag as a coach
7) wants to go down in history as the man who restored Richmond to greatness

and I think wallace is that person. PS- Wallace has now overwhelmingly won 2 polls. He also easily won the Herald Sun Poll.

Until recently I was always reticent about acknowledge the importance of a coach. I follow soccer and being of greek origin...I saw a german coach lead the greek national team to European Championship glory. the greek players were never considered a chance, often maligned, and a history of underperformance. In 3 years Otto Rehagel had his men disciplined, organised, passionate to play. He took a bunch of supposed duffers to the biggest prize in european sport. Why- because the players respected and listened to him, he kicked arses when he had too and did it his way. My view is our players have had far to much power at Punt Rd. Wallace should coach, Wallace should act as a dictator and any players who dont like it should pee off.

TERRY WALLACE is the man we want. The board should take note of it.
