Newett .....

* 23 Coburg players turned over; 14 at Richmond

* First home game at Craigieburn in round 3.

* Development vs Coburg coach. How do you combine the two?
Sat down with Hardwick and they want a successful Coburg side. Have players earning their spot and Richmond players reaching their potential.

* Sam Power has replaced Tim Clarke's role as on ground 'coach' to help pass on what it takes to prepare to play AFL.

* Nick Carnell is captain. Understands the balance between Richmond players coming back and Coburg players at times waiting their turn.

* 7 Calder Cannon guys have come on board.

* Griffiths will play in the ressies. Astbury will play as well (I think seniors). The sooner we fast-track these two in the Richmond side the better.

* Stresses to Calder guys who missed out on the draft that there's a stronger pathway via the VFL to the AFL with the new AFL teams coming in.

a little bit more from Newett....

* McMahon - injured this weekend. Good runner and an exquisite kick  :o. Played very well down at Frankston two weeks ago. We'll give him every opportunity to work his way into the Richmond side.

* Taylor and Dea both playing this weekend for the Coburg seniors. Dea has been very solid over the preseason running off HB.

* Webberley - attacking defender and kicks the ball well which is why he was drafted (Newett played against Webbs down in Tassie when Webbs was 16).

Thanks for the reports OE, so really by about rounds 6-8 we should really know who wants to put their hand up, McMahon included.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.
