IMO this reaction by the media to Jack giving the bird and especially his go at Dusty is way over the top and the cynic me sees it as an attempt to destabilise the side and Jack. Yeah he gave the bird when he shouldn't have and was silly to do so but just two weeks ago after kicking 6 goals he was our golden boy superstar yet; now after concussion the week before and in hindsight playing when he shouldn't have on Saturday night as he clearly wasn't right, he's according to the media got some serious behaviourial issue that need addressing ???
. Sorry but it seems those outside Richmond and particularly the media see an opportunity to get into Jack's head and create a story which doesn't exist. Jack just needs to focus on the footy and be answerable internally to the team. His attack on the footy last weekend like many of his teammates was substandard so that's what he needs to get back to this week. Worrying about and trying the appease external factors such as how the media perceive him and their claim his on-field attitude is "Richo-like"
is irrelevant to that objective.
As for Jack's "spat" with Dusty ... ummm I remember Hodge and Mitchell against us at 1/4 time in 2008 in a very heated discussion which the media made a big deal about yet the Hawks stood firm saying what's the big deal and 6 weeks later they all had a premiership medallion around their neck. In the heat of battle sometimes teammates have a go at each other. It happens all the time and as long as it doesn't linger beyond the moment then we really didn't need to drag Jack out in front of the media in the boardroom to publicly apologise to teammates when all this could and should have been handled in house. As a club you show a united what's the big deal front to the media and don't air your laundry in public. Now everytime we lose and Jack doesn't kick a bag, the media will focus on his on-field behaviour
.
