At the end of their Friday footy coverage last night, Ch 7 said "Jack breaks his media ban on Saturday night footy".

Jack "breaks his silence" on Ch 7 - coming up soon on Saturday Night Football. Interview with Richo.

By the way, Darcy said Jack has kicked more goals than all but Buddy over the past 4 years.

Summary of Richo interviewing Jack:

* The "media ban" was hammed up a bit.

* Spoke to the club last year about a media ban. He just wants to focus on playing footy.

* Got sick of people in the media, who he had never spoken to and who don't know him, writing stories about him personally.

* We're lucky we have a number of leaders at the Club. Accepts the Club has brought in people from other clubs who have stepped up in the leadership stakes and ahead of him and that has meant he's been pushed out of the leadership group. You don't need the title to be a leader. He has no doubt that in the future he'll be vying for the leadership group again.

* He loves the Club and bleeds Yellow & Black.

Gee I wish he would start flying for the ball like a few years ago and take control of the forward line...it would also help if we opened up the 50 for him and can kick the ball on his tit rather than bomb the bloody thing so every opposition defender can spoil the ball. Whilst I am at it, get out of his way Vickery!

JACK’S BACK ON MEDIA STREET
Jon Ralph
Herald-Sun

BRAVO to Jack Riewoldt.

He didn’t get a kick on Saturday night, but at least he had removed a key talking point ahead of the season.

Riewoldt went on Seven’s Saturday night coverage — albeit in an interview with club champion Matthew Richardson — and ended his “media ban” in the only way he knew how.

He laughed at himself by entering with black tape over his mouth, and then explained that he was truly hurt by his absence from the leadership group.

We love Riewoldt in the media — his heart is on his sleeve, but we get to see the real Jack Riewoldt.

He was largely ignored by Richmond’s forwards against Gold Coast, but he didn’t throw the toys out of the cot.

The Riewoldt of 2013 seemed to lose his feet too often, didn’t chase hard enough, didn’t stay in the contest.

Riewoldt at least kept fighting on a dirty night for the Tigers.

And as a million coaches have said before, if you do the little things it’s amazing how quickly your form can return.

He was ignored by the Richmond forwards?  Didn't give him any hand off or Joe the Goose goals or they just weren't on speaking terms?

For all the media criticism and obsession, Jack has kicked the most goals in the AFL since the start of 2012 and has the second best average at 2.8 goals per game.

J.Riewoldt    128
Franklin       124
Cloke          118
Roughead   116
Hawkins      115

Being a coleman medalist is pretty pointless if there's nothing to show for it at the end of the year.

In the past 30 years, there has only been 4 occasions when a coleman medalist actually won a premiership in the same year. There of course are many reasons why a team wins a granny, and it's not because a team has an awesome FF. If that were the case, then more than four colemans would have won flags.
These greats include Lockett, Ablett Snr, Richo (Ok he was great in my mind), Quinlin (Superboot was a fav of mine when I was young) and many others awesome FF's.

Why bother going on and on about a bloke at FF when the whole team can't function well at any level.
And The Richmond players are NOT skillful enough to come any where near it.

This whole Team, including Jack, where ever he plays has more than enough talent to win a flag, they just gotta get off their arses and stop being so friggin useless, and this has nothing to do with coaching decisions. Players just keep stuffing up. Kicking to a pack and hoping a Tiger may take a grab is about all the skill we have at the moment.
Bring on the best we got Tigers and we will certainly make the finals and win tonight.
Let Jack go where ever he Friggin likes on the foward line, let the bastard loose and let him fire up, that's his best place on the field.
