The Tigers have a history of narrowly missing the finals and 2006 was no exception, finishing ninth with a 50-50 win-loss record. Gifted midfielder Mark Coughlan has been struck down again in 2007 and wont play after injuring his knee in the off-season, while ex-Cat Kent Kingsley’s Tigers debut has been put on ice for at least a month with an ankle problem. Matthew Richardson will be the great white hope for the Tigers once again in 2007 and with Nathan Brown back to full fitness they could prove a dynamic duo in the forward line. Brett Deledio is on the verge of stardom, while Andrew Raines, Nathan Foley and Dean Polo will be the gun youngsters for the Tigers. The Tigers need their best 22 on the park each week if they are to get close to the top eight. First five matches at the MCG.

Got me absolutely stumped why all the experts have tipped us to do so poorly.

That praccie game against geelong is hardly any reliable indication, but because it was on TV everyone is writing us off.

I dunno but its going to be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet for me on the the betting front, cant wait to snap up the $2.10 outsider odds vs. Blues.

Bceause they are tossers  9th or 10th I could understand, but 14th

I think the preview is pretty much on the mark- we need our best side out there to be competitive for the Top 8.

I think the reason why the pundits are tipping us for a low finish is because of the quality of the sides we beat last year (ie:poor). Getting flogged by 15 goals in the last round at home, albeit by the eventual premiership side, and the bad loss to the Saints a few weeks earlier, I think shows where we are as a team, people might be going off that, not just the ordinary performance at Kardinia.

Not the worst preview but no Patto (second ruckman), Krak or Howat in the 2007 best 22. I'm a fan of Meyer but he isn't ahead of those 3 yet.

Agree DC about why we aren't rated. Injuries to our talls over preseason has made the average punter write us off too. Still nothing wrong with people underrating us. Let's hope Carlton does the same in 10 days time.
