A shortish segment about us tonight ...
The 4 amigos thought we had a good win on the weekend. Hutchy is even bullish about us as far as finals. He reminded everyone he said last week that the next 6 weeks are going to be exciting for the Tigers. Richmond is on the cusp.
Caro seemed less convinced that we have had that breakout game yet but said Richmond's second quarter was very good and then we were good enough to hang on and have a big win albeit against an ordinary Port Adelaide. Caro added our midfield is now becoming elite, our backline is building (Thomas still has concerns) and we have a forward line that has potential.
Lyon said there would be more to Hutchy's bullish beliefs if Richmond had won one of the games against Carlton, Geelong and West Coast as we've only beaten Melbourne and Port. Caro said we should have won two of those three games against top 4 opponents and we played better than Eagles last week who are her premiership favourites. Thomas is still holding off on the Eagles as they haven't played the top sides yet (apart from Hawthorn if you count them).
Thomas said the Tigers have been on the rampage the past month looking for a scalp and they got it as they should as we are a better team than Port is. He agreed with Hutchy that there is substance to the Tigers now. Richmond is now showing a consistency each and every week. It demonstrates what he said earlier in the show that the competition this year has compressed up and the footy in 2012 has been great to watch.
Thomas later in the show gave Hardwick his coaching performance of the week.
