I have no medical experience but the leg fully healed and the rod has been taken out so i cant see how that can be a problem ??? ??? ???

We have had our fair share of bad luck with Freeza, Justin Charles and possibly Browny.

Don't forget Merenda and Coughlan
Dragga too.

Just goes to show how incredible Richo is after coming back from a knee, broken foot, broken arm, broken wrist and then all the hammies, any of which could have ended his footy career.

he also has pulled his heart muscle a few times!!!  maybe he needs julz to mend it  :lol

I wanted to comment on Brown a few weeks back but i couldnt back up what i was told as it was more a secondhand opinion from one of the fitness staff than actual fact but seeing that everyman and his puppy is having an opinion here i will say that there is a feeling that perhaps for his long term health and general well being  that he give it up and be put on as as assistant. The actual scenario being is that Nathan is a very determined and focused individual and he wont do that until he is has exhausted every avenue possible to be able to get back on track. So basically its a waiting game with an unknown timeframe which will be determined by him and him alone.I suggest we all just forget about him, focus on the rest of the team and the youngsters waiting in the wings and consider it a bonus if he runs out for us again, whether it might be next week,a few weeks, months, next year or perhaps never....its in the lap of the gods.

i think we should forget about him and if we resign him at years end we are crazy. he will be a liability, its sad yes, its not gr8, but we cant change what has happened and he is not the only star to bow out cos of injury

Even David King admits Browny's career in the lap of the gods.

King, however, did not have any clearer picture on when star forward Nathan Brown would return.

Brown, who did not join his teammates for a run on the MCG yesterday, has not played this season after a hot spot flared up in the leg he broke almost two years ago.

"He is the million-dollar question," King said.

"We talk about Nathan every week and probably can't give you anything more concrete than what we did last week.

"There's nothing extra, it's just complications that he has had for a number of months now.

"I think Nathan's wellbeing long-term is more our concern than just winning this week."

Ever heard of the saying "it aint over till the fat lady sings?"  Listen to the gossip if you will, but I'll wait till it becomes a fact before I believe it.

Brown's fear for future

Brown's fear for future
29 April 2007   Sunday Herald Sun
Jon Rakph and David Reed

RICHMOND forward Nathan Brown said yesterday he expected to miss at least another three weeks of football and admitted he was facing the biggest test of his AFL career.

While Brown has been able to get back on the training track in the past week, he needs to build fitness and stay pain-free.

Brown hopes he has turned the corner after a stress fracture relating to the leg he broke in 2005, but admits a return date is uncertain.

"To be honest, I have got no idea (when I'll be back)," he said.

"The doctors are trying to figure it out. It is just a pain thing which will be guiding by me.

"I actually have to have two weeks of solid football training before I play, because of the risk of soft-tissue injury with calves and hamstrings."

Brown told Triple M that, while he remained positive, he had never faced such a challenge as returning from a potentially career-ending injury.

"I would be lying if I said it wasn't worrying me and I think about it a fair bit," he said.

"Everything has come along fairly easily for me for most of my football career. I have played some good football, played in some finals in my early years at the Bulldogs, everything was going well at Richmond - and now everything is turned upside down.

"It's something I really have to deal with internally myself and it's been hard, but everyone has tough times in their life. I am sure I will get through it and be fine."

Coach Terry Wallace said he believed Brown could still play a role this year.

"If you had asked me (if I was concerned) a week ago, the answer would have been yes," Wallace said. "It has been a concern he hasn't been out there, but the signs are on the improve. He is pain-free for the first time in probably a month."

Even if Browny returns he won't know for sure if his leg really right again until he's played a few games on end.

No time frame on Brown's return: Wallace

No time frame on Brown's return: Wallace
AAP
Tuesday, May 1, 2007

Richmond coach Terry Wallace says he is unable to put a time frame on injured forward Nathan Brown's return.

Brown continues to suffer soreness from a stress reaction in his leg and Wallace says the club is frustrated the injury is making little progress.

Wallace says specialists are unsure why the injury has not responded to treatment and cannot provide a definitive answer on why Brown continues to suffer setbacks in his rehabilitation.

Wallace says he doesn't have any plans that include Brown being available to play anytime soon.
