Polak was great as the loose man in defence.  Foley, King, Tuck, Lids were all very good.  Tambling is getting better every game.

Took Neil Daniher half a game to realise Holland was in the wrong position :wallywink  Doesn't Nathan Carroll look like a porn star?

I dunno depends what kind of porn you watch  ;)  :lol  :rollin

BTW: this is my 1000th post. Woo-Hoo

See what a bit of confidence will do - To all you doomsayers, do you still think we are that far of after watching that.

Fair enough melbourne were bad - I am talking about us.

Even Tivs proved in an improved side he will be a valuable player.

Im happy and watch out Saints  :thumbsup

Bye

agree with what everyone is saying about the game
a few things went against us in the 2nd half , esp the 3rd quarter,
1/ was the inconsistency of the umpires, there are 2 diff hands in the back rules, there is the Richo rule, and the robbo rule, and there seems to be different interpret of the holding the ball rule  :banghead

another thing, we still need another quality midfielder in, they cleaned us up in the clearances in the 2nd half purely because krak was off injured, many bag this guy, but he was a very important part of our mids in the 1st half and and for a small fella, he is our best tackler and just sets up right to help the team, shows much more balls and courage than many give him credit 4.

also tivs had a very handy game, at times his best looking worst kicks let us down, and at times his vision is poor and picks the wrong option inside 50, but this was definitely the best game of this year 4 him.

Hyde, proved many wrong, he is up to this level
Jackson, will be a 10 yr player 4 us, finally has belief in himself and is fast becoming a top run with player

king, although his disposal at times lets us down, is a ferocious competitor, reminds me of a fox terrier taking on a  pit bull, no fear and gives his all

Raines, seems to be overcoming his niggly injuries and is able to run through the lines again, and it seems his agility is back

Tambling, will be a star, no doubt about, as bull said, his consistency and steady improvement this yr has been a treat top watch

Hughes, although he did not appear to do much, played his role and shows enough, he dropped back in defense whilst polak went in the ruck and at least tried, needs to keep watching the way Richo goes about it work rate rise and take notes

Foley, would definitely be an AA player this yr if we were in the 8, IMO , he still deserves an AA cap thus far this year. he is as JJ used to say " dynamite "

same goes for Polak and Joel, if we were in the top 8 or there abouts they would be in the AA team. Polak IMO has been the chb this yr since he has been playing this role. the guy has the best hands in the business, and to all those doubted him and bagged his trade, eat me!  Joel, continually player on bigger bodies and has the best kicking efficiency in the AFL, even though at times he has a brain freeze and shanks a kick totally.

pattison, may not win tap outs but is a gr8 competitor and gives his all, no fear , and heart of a lion tiger

deledio, at times buggers up in defense with his options but is now really starting to deliver, he is starting to really do what we all know he can do and shaking  Godfrey's tag is not easy, well done lids!

thursty, will become a star fullback, has great closing spead and gr8 hand eye co-ordination and spoils beautifully! once he gets a bit more size on him, watch out!

still don't believe we have a spot 4 white, he to me just seems out of his depth at AFL level and i would have rather seen Edwards play rather than white, whit is a worry in my opinion, and even though Howat has some good up sides, i just don't think he will make it either, can he still remain a rookie next yr? i hope so.

so what do we do from here"

do we tank it to get kruezer or cotchin?

or do we try and win as many games as possible, have faith in the kids and list we have and get some momentum up to give next yr a big crack and making the 8?

IMO, i say, a winning culture is more imp, lets go for the wins and build momentum

play every match like we did and try and win all matches I say. Like you said the winning culture >>> draft picks.

At the end of the year I still reckon we are going to have at least a top 2 pick. That means either Kreuzer or Cotchin will be at Richmond. At this stage prefer Cotchin as he is the inside ball winner we need to help Foley and Cogs when he comes back

Isn't the limit 4.5 wins.

Doesn't that mean we can win another 3

See what a bit of confidence will do

Exactly by the end of the game everyone was hitting targets, they took people on and won, they were tackling like i've never seen before.

Jackson is one of the longest kicks i've seen, he's starting to fit in and if he can kick 70 metres from the centre each time, it puts the opposition under pressure.

King is a star, i'm liking how the defense is looking, Thursfield pwned Robbo, say what you want about lack of opportunities, Thursty spoiled everything after a slow start.

Richo unlucky with posters, and must have gave away 10 frees.

And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do
