The importance of Nathan Brown
« on: June 24, 2007, 09:27:37 PM »
I always Browny was a gun, but Friday night really made it evident how much his presence has an effect on the team and the way they stood taller with him there.

With Brown up forward and firing, for one it puts Petts down the list in regards to which defender he gets. He seemed like a totally different player friday night.

Players coming forward with the ball had total confidence in Brown's ability and had no hesitation in passing to him. This makes others walk taller and try and do things which they normally wouldnt.

I also wonder how much impact Brown's presence had on Terry Wallace?

Interested to see what others thoughts of Brown are after Friday night, did you think he was an out and out superstar (i did) and how much impact fo you think he had on the team?

The pure quality finishing we've been missing all year. A star.

ps We were awesome on Friday. As much as people say Melbourne played crap that's all we let them be.

First thing I noticed Bull - was our skills, just with him out there our skills looked so much better. His skills obviously are just so far ahead of the rest of the group it aint funny.

Without question I thought all pur players lifted - he has an all mighty presence on the field and it certainly showed on Friday night.

The other thing was I reckon it had a postive impact on our leaders - was Suga's best game for ages - perhaps not having to be the sole leader or just believing that you are the sole leader out there (eg there are more out there to carry the load so to speak) had a positive impact on Johnson and to a lesser extent Bowden. Let's be honest we have only had 3 of our leadership group out there for the most of the first half of the year (Johnson, Bowden & Newman. missing = Brown, Simmonds and Coughlan)

Did it have an effect on Tezza - yeah I reckon it did to finally have your best player out on the paddock - as coach that has to be relief, that he got through the game was well as he did that's got to be a relief to the entire club

Question:

"The Importance Of Nathan Brown"

Answer: (Richmond)

"Very Important"

nowwwww ... ... 1st match back ... very good ...

we missed the arrogance and class really ...

as we all now ... a player that can kick that GOAL needed ...

i really really really hope like very Richmond supporter ...

that he can get back into that 2005 form ...

also ...

did people realise that pettifer played ok and looked like having fun playing football ...

before browns match ... pettifer looked like he was peeed off, upset for some reason ...

i believe its because he doesn't want to work hard for the football when taking the best small defender or what ever ...

aka: Pettifer is a LAZY CU*T !!! ... but friday night he looked very different ... obviously we know why ...

out of all the players to lift because of Brown's return ...

i must say Kayne Pettifer was the obvious one that stood out to me !!!

and well ... thats why this Topic Question was asked ...

Yes, very important ...

Just A Thought:

Richardson: Best Tall Defender

Brown: Best Small Defender

4 spots left ...

Reiwoldt: Next Best T.D

Pettifer: Next Best S.D

Schultz: Next Best T.D

Tambling/Krakouer: Next Best S.D

Deledio: Next Best S.D

Hughes: Next Best T.D

Meyer: Next Best S.D

our Forward Line with these players looks very very very very DANGEROUS ...

really, each team has only 3 Best Defenders ...

our best 6 Forwards would cause massive problems ...

yet ... we all know this ... its just them ...

i rate this forward line highly ... if only it ever works in the future !!!

As you said Torch, Pettifer was the main reason for me starting the topic.

I also agree that he was the one who looked to be of a total different mindset compared to the first half of the season.

Just shows how much 1 or 2 crucial injuries can affect a side, especially a young one.

Browny is a treat to watch that's for sure.
Let's hope we can make the jump within the next 2 seasons and give him a chance on the big stage.
Gives me a shiver just thinking about it.

So important that I reckon the Saints will put their little thug Baker onto Browny this week instead of tagging one of our midfielders.

Browny is our traffic cop up forward. He dictates where his teammate should kick and run to and draws defenders away from Richo so the big fella doesn't have 4 hanging off him. Browny is the only player we've had that can read what Richo is thinking and doing which is a remarkable feat in itself  ;D.

Great player, Great Leader, Great thinker, Onfield coach. Play him for 4 more games then tank and he'll be right with Kreuzer in the forward half next year.  :thumbsup
