Agree WP why change the boardroom when we have it stable. The last thing that we would want is to be a rabble on the field and in the boardroom, now that could be the end of the club. Crazy John wants to involve himself in the club why did he not do this 3 years ago when the club was on its knees with the Dud Spud and Clinton " Aberfeldie Essendon"? 3 years ago he would have had to invest in the club and that would be money from his own pocket which he was not prepared to give. Instead he is a sly fox trying to wait till GM turns the finances around totally and then lay his claim to the fame that are the Richmond finances and the off field stability. Hence he would also have all the advertising he needs with out spending a cent. When it will all go awry where will he be. Calling extraordinary general meetings and off into the night. We don't need selfish people like that after all we have to endure Bowden on a week to week proposition and have been for the past 11 years. Right now the club needs off field stability in the boardroom while we sort out the collision on the runway that is our on field saga and Richmond people who love and hurt for the footy club and are prepared to do the right thing by it and have been long standing members and supporters not some one who is on the bandwagon to nurture and promote their self interests. If it aint broke do not fix it. Crazy John is not the man to take us forward plain and simple. If he had any substance why does he not donate money to the club to help us improve our player development in terms of young recruits or  improve the facilities or provide money to the club to throw and pick up a ready made recruit from another club who is out of contract. We are past the quick fix it has failed time and time again. Any one here remember when Alan Bond was pres? Leave it as is please......................

It was mentioned during the broadcast of Sunday's game on MMM that Richmond would lose one of it's major sponsors this year owing to its' lack of success leading to less friday night television exposure.

[Besides Gary March - who is a Richmond person and has been all his life (read he's always been a member) has done an excellent job as President so why should there be any talk of him being replaced by a person who has only been a member for the last 2 or so years ???

Great supporter there - NOT - If u love Richmond give us some money and then crawl under a rock.

CUB - you'd hav eknow idea how much money Gary MArch has poured into the RFC

oops that didn't sound quite right... I tihnk you'd be surprise at what he's done behond the scenes without any fanfare :cheers

wp

i have no idea how much march has put in but i have met him 3 times, nothing to brag about , but duiring thos e3 meetings and discussions, it was very clear that march is teh man to lead the tigers and be our president, no doubt

what the tigers need is not rocket science
we just need to make tough decisions

1/ get rid of miller
2/ get rid of aging dud players inc the cho
3/ somehow find money to get better assistants to aid terry

thats it

and recruit well

Maybe the club should consider approaching Russell Crowe.  He's helped build up the Rabbitohs.

You would of hoped they have
Jackstar dont you think it would be good if some people look at the bigger picture sometimes before making comments like that of Gordon Bennetts?
I certainly have looked at the big picture, and I don't know why you assume I haven't.In fact, I find it offensive that you think I would hold that opinion without thinking about the bigger picture. As for meeting him..no, I haven't.He is very much a public person, and I didn't realise that I wasn't entitled to make conclusions about him unless I've met him personally.

Over many years I have watched his media performances and his various statements, and read detailed articles about him. I believe I'm in a position to make an informed judgment about his personal qualities and motives. My position is the same that WP has outlined above and in the past.

I'm as certain as night follows day that John Ilhan as president would be a disaster for Richmond. People must not be taken in by "fool's gold".The key issue for me is to ask: Who would John Ilhan primarily be serving, himself or the Richmond football club?
It is crystal clear in my mind that the answer to that question is "himself". That, tigertailz, is a deal breaker.

Eddie McGuire is a self promoter, but no-one could ever accuse him of not loving the Pies and everything he does is for their benefit.
Crazy's got a lot of questions to answer in that regard, IMO.

Hey Gordon, you could nearly same the same about our coach.
Demanded $600,000 and left the rest of the footy dept dry.
Judged on performances win loss ratio ( and that all in business besides profitablity) you would have to say the wallace has failed.

As for John Ilham, i am willing to look at all options at the present.
As for Gary March, take your mind back to the Athens Olympics, now does that ring a bell. ::) Oh, how easy people forget and then want to bag people. EVERYONE is entitled to there opinion, but the facts of the matter is that John Ilham is a successful business person, like him or not.

Lets see whats happens, I might add on an not taking sides in this matter, just keeping an open point of view with the vision what is good for the RFC, long term

Tony Mokbel has been a very successful business man as well. Made millions. I wouldn't want him at RFC, however, even if he wasn't "otherwise engaged".

I was just making the point that being a successful businessman doesn't necessarily make you qualified to be the president of a football club. Other things are needed as well.

Crazy John and vodaphone on board next year anyone heard this?

Is something up with Motorola, who were the commentators mentioning sponsors pulling the pin.

All ties in nicely.

On the Today show this morning, Crazy John promised $1 million to a player who kicks 10 goals in the AFL Grand Final or gets 5 tries in the NRL Grand Final.
