no real suprise that kreuzer won it

cotchin with 8 votes given he hasn't played many games is a fair effort

Yep. Cotchin was in the votes in 4 of the 5 H/A TAC Cup games he played.

How is this scenario.

Trade week, we score a handy ruckman.

We have Simmonds, Handy Ruckman, Patto and Gus.

Draft time. Blues take Cotchin, do we take Kreuzer seeing as we are ok for ruck??

The Blues could call our bluff and get Cotchin and Kreuzer at 1 and 3???

Someone for 5 years at $5 million whose groin problems could be as bad as the pick before him in the 2001 draft. Massive risk.

Richard Pratt has very deep pockets, but i reckon it is all smokes and mirrors.
Perhaps we need to look beyond Judd, who else will they tempt. :whistle

Kreuzer is 199cm so he won't be a "tall" ruckman. Most AFL ruckmen are in the low 200 cms. More a tall agile ruck rover who can ruck, follow around the ground and play forward. It'll also take him 3-4 years before he starts cementing a spot in the side which would be good timing as Simmo will be nearing the end of his footy career by then. If Kreuzer is still around at pick 2 then we'll pick him up IMO. Kreuzer, Cotchin and Morton are the club's top 3.

The main thing is all our star cubs are safely signed up  :thumbsup

I hope the Blues do splurge most of their salary cap on one player. Means they haven't learnt anything from Kouta and his massive contract.

Buddy is contracted for another year so he can't walk even though he's on a small contract. It'll get interesting when the Hawks need to clear salary cap space for him.

Agree rogerd3 it's probably all smoke and mirrors. Most players don't change clubs these days unless they are already on the outer. There were only 9 trades done last year - Polak, Medhurst, Solomon, Tarrant, Birss, Aker, McDougall, Everitt and Gardiner. Some "name" players but not superstars like a Judd or Pavlich.

kreuzer or cotchin IDGAF, they are both guns

if blues take kreuzer we take cotchin

if blues take cotchin we take kreuzer

the equation is pretty simple

would prefer not to take morton, but even if we did I wouldn't be peeed because he too is an awesome talent

Spot on bluey. It'll be what we do with our other picks especially 18 and 19 that will make this draft for us.
