great debut by cotchin..keep it up...

he's fit enough to play seniors....but perhaps not in the middle the whole game....hence he spends a portion of his game time resting in the forwardline....(where he's mighty impressive too).....

would have liked him to receive much more fanfare in his debut but just not to be......still....a debut game against the reining premiers where he did more than enough is a good sign....would give him great confidence too that he can match it with the big boys whilst not getting too ahead of himself.....game like this is worth 20 games of experience i reckon...

No doubt that Cotchin showed that he belongs at AFL level, however just worries that he does not have the fitness base.

Will be interested to see how he goes second start after a heavy track - hopefully no soft tissue injuries are lurking.

May be a concern in the short-term but long-term will be fine IMO
No surprise Cotch doesn't have the fitness base as he couldn't train from mid-September last year to March this year thanks to that broken ankle he injured in the TAC Cup PF. He's had no preseason whatsoever.

Cotch would've learnt heaps from Saturday. Confidence that he can mix it at this level with the best but also that midfielders of the quality and experience of Joel Corey can do a fair bit of damage in 10 minutes.

Cotch got a segment to himself on Footy Classified. Loved the vision of the don't argue and the one arm fend off on Scarlett  :thumbsup.

Hutchy mentioned how Carlton saw him as the potential No.1 draft pick but had settle on the taller Kreuzer.

Yeah, not a mention of us at all - a tiny bit on Geelong and that was it.  Oh, well keep under the radar and take 'em by surprise.

Exactly, who gives a toss if he doesn't get a mention from the media, Foley went ages without the media attention and was still a gun. If we know and believe they are guns that is all that is needed  :thumbsup

Just been watching the Carlton vs Fremantle game.

I am so happy we have Cotch rather than Judd.

Sure Judd's terrific, there is no doubting he is a champion. But watching Cotch I have no doubt this boy is going to be a good one. It's been a long while since I have seen a young player who looks so comfortable at AFL level from his first game. In the long run we are going to get far more useful service from him than we would have from Judd.

 :thumbsup

the cotch will be better than judd, mark it down

his dad pushed him to the limits so bad, he was one of those dimir dokic type dads that really pushed his kid. he is so  bad that he has been banned from being at the club , even at training and cotch moved out of home and with is with sugar now. all those things he did for trent early was good, but it is time for him to let go of his son and develop at a professional club

the kid is awsome, is a freak, spoke to a mate of his who played with him at tac level and said that trent was just so far superior than anyone .

he will become a star and there will be alot of manlove for the cotch in coming yrs

Watch out 2009 and beyond when Cotch has actually had a preseason and can play for more than just spurts. His awareness of where others are and his ability to execute cleanly is something special as Bruce would say.
