Miller on Blake

Miller said the Tigers were interested in out-of-contract Geelong big man Mark Blake who was controversially dropped for the Grand Final despite playing 22 matches this season.

"We haven’t spoken to (Blake's manager) Anthony McConville as yet but we certainly will chase that up; it's something we’ll chase up," Miller said.

"We hope to be active (in the market). Definitely we'll be in the hunt."

I don't think Blake is much chop, but he's probably going to be about as good as can be expected in the PSD.

Better off going in again with Graham and Patto, plus a young ruckman we either draft or rookie list.

Spot on.

Would rather see Patto keep on developing in the ruck thatn see Blake.

Yep I'd rather we too developed our own even if it takes a while than become other clubs' recycling bin.

Problem is that Simmo has some real injury concerns, Graham is very much unproven and anyone we draft this year won't make any sort of impact for a couple of years.

No wonder we finish last.
Blake is an absolute dud who couldnt get a kick in a good team.
Will struggle big time in a lesser team
Miller is dreaming

i have been one of millers biggest critics in teh last few yrs but in this case i thibnk miller is just saying stuff like this that "we are interested" in this out of contract player is just something he would say about every player. what we dont know is what kind of or how much interest we have in these players . but it is his job to be aware of every single player that is available and put them in some kind of preference order

id love to agree with u but i really miller will make a pitch for blake.

if thats the case i think he has seriously lost the plot like morton over at the eagles.
like blake if not worse at least made it into the team, this morton fella couldnt get a game with all their big guns missing.

GM u better be playing the game or pack ur bags back to arden street son

While that looks very likely at this stage jezza, there's no rule that says you need to use your PSD pick on a recycled player. In fact you don't have to use the PSD pick at all. If we're only going to get the equivalent of another Knobel or Kingsley who'll last only 1-2 years then we're better off picking up another kid instead or given this draft is shallow we could just keep Joel as a vet inside the senior list and select 5 rookies instead of 4.
