Not only covered and shut down his own man but countless times left his man to do the same to someone else's man.

From Robbo's 'likes' column:

Alex Rance

He would’ve gone insane with frustration on Saturday afternoon, wondering what in the hell was happening in his midfield. Talk about under siege. And if Rance didn’t play, the Tigers would’ve lost by 140 points and not by 88. Rance had 17 intercept possessions, the second most by any player this season and the sixth most ever recorded, and that’s not counting his spoils and tackles and pressure. Arguably, he was the best performed player on the ground.

I think Rance should be captain going forward. Crawford was a similar personality have no issue with that side.

You go to war with Rance.

Thinking that we won't get close to flag with GWS monopoly. Would anyone entertain trading Rance? Best defender in game. We could get a deal like Judd deal and collect 3 A grade players? Are we winning a premiership with Rance?
Go Tigers!

Never trade Rance.....never!! The best defender I have ever seen in 40+ years of watching this game. I agree with you re making him the captain.

Looking at Rance the rest of the team should hang their heads in shame letting the warrior take up their slack.

I do think you could get a ripper deal for him and I still say no. Just too good and the only player that is actually entertaining to watch outside Dusty. Too bad he has no intentions/desire to become captain

No we won't. We probably never will so one of the joys of watching us is watching Rance kicking arse. If that's the best we get for our lifetime then so be it, better than nothing I guess.  :clapping :clapping

Rance deserves to be looked after: Deledio (Herald-Sun)

Rance deserves to be looked after: Deledio

Jay Clark
Herald Sun
August 1, 2016

RICHMOND midfielder Brett Deledio says gun defender Alex Rance deserves to have a longer off-season break than his teammates because of his exemplary performance.

There have been reports of disharmony at Richmond because Rance enjoys a longer summer break away from the club than others.

The Tigers agreed to his extended annual leave request when the 26-year-old re-signed a lucrative four-year deal to stay at Punt Rd last season.

But Deledio was adamant there was no friction about it among the playing ranks and that teammates only joked about Rance’s longer off-season break as part of normal footy club banter.

“It’s like any other footy club, it’s about ribbing him (Rance) and giving him a bit of stick more than anything else,” Deledio said last week on Triple M.

“Alex has certainly shown that he deserves to be looked after.

“You want to almost make sure that he is in pristine condition.”

Rance won Richmond’s best and fairest last year and is favoured to finish in the top-two this season alongside star midfielder Dustin Martin, after another excellent season.

The powerhouse defender is aiming for his third-straight All-Australian guernsey.

The West Australian has played 16 games this season and is on track to play his 150th match against Sydney Swans at the SCG in Round 23.

Deledio said Rance has earned the off-season privilege and kept himself in top condition during his break anyway.

“Without being back day one (of preseason) with everyone else, he came back (from the longer break) and ran a PB (personal best) last year when he did come back, so he certainly looks after himself,” Deledio said.

“He certainly does everything right to get those breaks.”

The club handled this poorly. What they should have done is told the media Rance took a 25% reduction in pay because he was going to 0.75 EFT.

The 25% of time off he takes is over the summer break which he makes a bit longer.

Everyone is then happy!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.
